So what are the models showing for us in the NE at the moment?

Colder upper air and sub-zero dew-points returning to the region by tomorrow morning

should ensure any showers will turn wintry again as we head through tomorrow.

Not a particularly potent northerly but should provide some interest with showers off

the north sea and maybe a dusting for some areas tomorrow evening.

Roger Smith has said in one of the threads he expects between 10 and 20 cm in some parts of our region on Monday

Ive come to the conclusion that he may be a bit of a fantasist when it comes to cold, I think he may be willing his forecast of a bitter feb to come true alas unlikely IMO

Had the odd flurry here this morning. All ppn has fallen as snow, but not much. Is just a case of radar watching and trying to catch the odd shower?

Whitby cut off by blizzards again. Looks like we missed out by only 20 or so miles and a bit of elevation

10 mins of very heavy hail/graupel now followed by heavy snow. Heaviest I have seen this year.

Lovely

Certainly very cold and a big massive cloud has appeared over the horizon.

I can see all the cloud here running down the east of me still got sunny intervals here the cloud is breaking up as it gets closer to us allowing the sun to get out

Currently 5.2°C

Only lasted 15-20 mins but has left cm or so. Just caught the leading edge and you could see the hail comming down in bucket loads against the bright sky.

A few light snow showers here today but nothing lying, although there was plenty of ice around

first thing this morning.

A few more showers to come for coastal areas over the next few hours.

TBH the only chance of snow is Sunday before that its looking mostly dry and chilly with sunny intervals

Even the met office website is showing heavy rain (as of 19:53) on Sunday morning turning to sleet before turning to snow in the evening

I wouldn't get your hopes up yet for much snow it could turn into a non event again
