Got a good covering here difficult to say how much because the wind is blowing it around, the snow is now at its heaviest and will be like this for another 30 minutes minimum

@ boro snow

Sleet is expected anytime from 18:00 onwards but looking at the radar it could be sooner, its now raining in Carlisle and sleeting in Haltwhistle

Now wonder its snowing the Boro won last night!

Snow has only slightly laid on cars and grass, pavements are just wet

Everywhere is white in darlo now it should turn heavier over the boro within 20 minutes

It is heavy but not those big flakes which lay instantly, hope your right anyway. I'm sat here facing the window doing my uni work and looking out of the window

The flakes aren't huge here but its sticking fast now as NE Snow said everywhere is white including the main roads

Only about a cm here, but it is blowing about - every so often a gust of wind blows a cloud of snow down the road.

I had a decent accumulation on my head this afternoon whilst walking home.

Yes there seems to be a small but intense band of snow over our area atm

The radar suggest it will ease around 15:45

Definitely intensifying here, a fair bit of drifting too despite the small depths.

Just feel if the snow was more heavier earlier on we would have more snow accumlating for sure but it most certainly intesisfying as others has noted.

Shame the 0+ upper air temps is nearly here now but its nice visually to look at.

Big flakes now, could be a sign of milder air?

Really heavy here, sounds like sand blowing against the window.

Stop complaining and get out in it! At spennymoor and it's great! No great depth but blowing and drifting everywhere and -1C. It's a brill day, get out of your house! Some people just can't be happy.

Anyone know what conditions are like up Consett/Stanley way? Our lass is due to travel down to Ferryhill tonight for a romantic, candle-lit meal and it might be a bit dodgy for her.

I am in between stanley and consett, the main roads are covered in places mainly due to the wind

blowing the snow about.

Hard to say how much has fallen as it has all blown into drifts a couple of foot deep in places.
