Light to moderate snow here, slight covering. Hoping for plenty more snow showers over next 24 hours driven on by a ferocious easterly wind, feeling really cold outside earlier, temps hovering around zero now.

No temps need to drop a bit further for it to settle unfortunately. Still with -15 uppers over the north sea we must be in with a good chance of some significant shower or streamer activity later today and tonight. Looks great for parts if north east currently around Durham.

It's a Sunday. The date is a multiple of 10. Must be snowing!

(Jan 20th and Feb 10th if you're wondering!)

No I don't think we got near -15 uppers in dec 10, think around -11 or so at best.

Just ram through the chart archives for dec 10 and 850s generally were between -5 and -10 throughout, never colder. Think it was just the time of year and snow cover that made it so cold. Late Jan 10 I think briefly saw 850s around -12, ironically precipitation turned back to rain in the east due to the north sea, despite the uppers.

Light snow in Belper but nothing settling in the town centre. The tops of the hills around here though are white, but not been up there so don't know how much there is.

Met office forecast looks good for my area - heavy snow tonight :)

Some snow grains flying around in the wind here. Temp 1.3oC, dew point -0.3oC. Horrid out, really icy wind.

Snow flurries for the past two hours here, obviously way to light to stick, tonight looking potential interesting though with the potential for a streamer IF that pesky front to the south doesn't edge to far north.
