Hi chillyI have had a few done.I think to know what to expect is a good idea as the noises are loud and weird.I watched an MRI scanner running on you tube and I think I may have wondered if it was normal or not and been scared if I hadn't of seen it.hope this helps x

Hello Chilly. Like Floaty I have had a number of MRI scans, about 6 at the last count.

This video gives an idea of what it's like.

Floaty is spot on about the noise. At my hospital they have a list of cd's or ask me to bring my own favourite which they play, hence the headphones. During the procedure the operator will occasionally interrupt the music and tell the patient what is happening. The press pad the paitient is given in the video is  so they can stop or pause the procedure at any time.

Hope this information helps. BB54

gfs 18z has been at the beans tonight

Hope this is a glitch too, that could cause some serious post xmas tears.

Talking of serious, the trend does now seem that the next few weeks are set to become damp and at times quite windy looking across the models and runs, with some damp (really did I put it like that?) in there, but often mild due to the wind direction.  Dickension style xmas for our area this year? highly unlikely, but I feel weather will be one of the topic of choice, and no doubt wind comparisons with sprout consumption.

I would prefer this not to happen, even if there's a chance of snow with it may be. I hate wind storms.

Morning all, hope everyone's well, although reading some of the above that don't seem to be the case, therefore for those who not feeling to good, hope you all feel better soon. Cricket looking interesting at the moment, wonder when the collapse will start? Its dry out and that's all I can see at present.

Unusually I am not in the bad books this weekend, but no doubt that will soon change, got a mixed weekend, with food shopping and football taking priority today (no bluewater, jumps around the room in celebrations), tomorrow wrapping presents and arranging the wife's 60th birthday meal for early February and then hopefully watching some more football on the tele and no doubt falling asleep half way through.

Been a fairly un eventful week at work this week, and no doubt next week will follow a similar pattern, working in the food industry in the lead up to Christmas, mean unless its broken nobody wants to see an engineer, if its broken, then all hell lets loose.

Why do I do it? Why do I try to be helpful? Why don't I concerntrate, when I try to be helpful? I just give up, it must be something inside me that just hates a peaceful and loving weekend, I am never ever going to try to be nice to her ever again, it just ain't worth it. Must get central heating fitted to the dog house as I am on my way out there. Heard her indoors get up, thought brownie points here I come, make her a cup of tea, goes to fill the kettle up whilst thinking about work, turn Tap on to full, water hits ceiling, water hits lights and I suppose most importantly hits you guessed it, her. Oh well another quiet weekend, and shopping delayed due to unexpected shower.

Blow me, gets even better the fight back in the cricket I thought might be happening, has turned into a mini collapse as we lose 2 quick wickets, put all your money on a derby win today!

Morning all

Not been out but gazing through the window it looks...dry and sun coming up, remote sensor tells me it is 3.6oC out (working from home today as I do remote I.T. support)

Yes I hate wind storms too as they can be quite destructive (almost as bad as flooding)

Oh dear :( you really are not having a good time of it at the mo, hope it all gets better soon.

Morning all

Off to work now

Ecm at 192 looks awful for us

Fi and all that but not good

http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/ecmwf.php

Lets hope the 12z changes that

Back tonight

John

Morning all.

Quite benign here, with high cloud starting to make an appearance.

Just saw that chart and was about to post the same. Posted Image Like I've intimated previously, I think there's some bullet dodging to be done between now (or from a few days time where we are) and Christmas. The Atlantic looks impressively angry!

Morning Steve, morning all.

Now this is more like the weather I ordered for the weekend! Sunny with a few clouds, it's pretty mild again, which in the absence of Winter so far, will do fine.

Right, time to do some cooking.

Yes, I saw a couple the other morning, within 5 minutes, without expecting them. As they came from the same point, I knew a meteor shower was the likely culprit.

I then researched and saw it was the Geminid Shower, which likely peaked this morning. :)

Just had a text from my mum saying the weather is awful at my parent's place in Wexford - I guess that's what we're getting tonight! Really quite nice here at the moment though.
