It was effectively sunny here all day, despite what was said on local tv forecasts earlier. Hazy sun during the morning fog. Clear blue skies thereafter. :)

Weather for now seems normal if anything a tad milder than avg, yes it can have wet days, windy days and some colder days, but AFAIK that is what we term "normal" weather for the UK at this time of year, so fear not. :)*

*I could be wrong Posted Image

or there again you could be right, normal weather. Looks like we could have some rain Friday --illustrates JP'S point about FI perfectly, no rain forecast in the Country file forecast last Sunday. 5 days later and looks totally different. Edited by NorthNorfolkWeather

Yarmouth can cope with anything after last week's storm, just don't send it to North Norfolk

Agreed, but I then looked at the thread from lunchtime. Points scoring / little cliques / poor, poor analysis seemed to be the order of play until early this evening. Tiresome reading, that I just looked through, to see when it would get to the point of upsetting the moderators.

Apart from a few 'heavyweight' posters there, there's just as good analysis here and in the Strat Thread imo. Posted Image

Edit. That doesn't mean the 'heavyweights' there are better than here, but they can add different perspectives. :)

Evening!! Foggy again, and frosty. Rather crisp, despite it being London air!! Looks like could be some flight issues for se eng airports tomorrow morning.

Strange, as whilst it was frosty this morning, it wasn't really cold. Felt quite warm by time reached work.

Another beautiful wintry evening walking the dog with our breath clear in the air, fog hovering within a few feet of us and frost forming on the cars.

The mayor of our nearest town in Cyprus - also our one-time gate builder and satellite dish installer - has issued a weather warning for snow tonight, and in Limassol, 30-minutes downhill and coast-wards from there, tonight's temperature is forecast to be 5 degrees according to my mother-in-law. Will check the Troodos webcam in the morning to see if the white stuff has delivered, although I am heartened by, as Chris101 says, the match being cancelled in Istanbul due to snow - I guess, just like us, they may lack some of the experience of Tromso or Philadelphia!

hi all

just a quick post for the mo

fax to follow soon

to follow on from gottolovethis weather

heres the pressure maps for gfs 12z ensembles

http://www.meteociel.fr/cartes_obs/gens_display.php?x=315&y=146&run=12&runpara=0&col=1&type=1&ext=1

if you look at the 16th

the mean red goes up and the white line goes down (the op)

thats why i still call fi on the 17th on

also if you look at the mean line that has high pressure in control right through the run

see the main graph below

Posted Image

so keep to the reliable for now

the low pressure systems are causing issues at present

could take a few days before we get a clearer idea of what happens next

Hi folks! Well the "dew" on the car this morning turned out to be ice and fairly chilly all day, if not bitterly cold but not what I'd call mild?! And foggy out there now!

I hope we get a sudden unexpected blast of cold and snow - not just cos I want it but cos it might stop certain people in MAD condemning us to "definitely mild zonal" ever again when FANTASY ISLAND shows this - clue is in the nickname folks ;)

When never ending mild zonal shows again, i want people to refer to "ah yes but look what happened in Dec 2013!" Lol!!

Pma....!!!!xx

Yep, well and truly foggy here too. Not that I'm remotely surprised, as we had clear skies all day here and I definitely didn't expect it to cloud up this eve. :)
