Aside from a few very brief light/sharp showers the last time it rained properly in Warminster was 3 weeks ago (4th June) but that looks set to change by tomorrow evening. In the meantime though it's another sparkling summer day with scattered small Cumulus, some Cirrus and a NE breeze.

Definitely the first 'annoying' day for a while, clouded over with this odd band of mid level cloud refusing to move but just contracting inwards from the sides a bit.

A SSE breeze and it's only 17.1c as a result, though it reached 19.4c in sunshine this morning.

On a different note the recent warm sunny weather has raised sea temperatures further, currently more similar to their late summer peak than typical late June values, mainly 16-17C round the coast of the SW, and 18C off south Cornwall, nearly 4C above average there (see link to anomalies below the key)http://ghrsst-pp.metoffice.com/pages/latest_analysis/sst_monitor/ostia/sst_plot.html?i=34&j=2

These may be reduced slightly by the upcoming more unsettled weather, but will probably lift mean temperatures and humidity slightly around the coast compared to with normal sea temperatures, and probably have done recently.

Would be interesting if these anomalies could be maintained into late summer..

An interesting link there, Sam. It shows that the recent warm weather has really made an impact on sea temperatures.

Surprisingly sunny here today, there was a good deal of high cloud late this morning, which I thought was the start of the end of the sun, but this cleared to give a sunny afternoon, however the cloud has returned again this evening, probably to stay.

It actually feels a bit cooler now than has been the case at time time on recent days.

It looks like not just cloudy but quite a bit of rain falling over your area.

Yes that's why I put slight rain but moderate at times. Actually just had a spell of moderate bordering on heavy.

Light cloud and hazy sunshine to start the day. Very calm too. 17.7C - only 1.3C shy of the BBC's maximum prediction today, may need revising unless there's a northerly blast this afternoon...

Looks like a clearance under way here with the cessation of the rain. At the moment As/Ac with some Sc. Bit of odd morning with continuous light rain interspersed with moderate to heavy outbreaks caused by convective clouds within the rain belt. Showery precipitation reported as rain. Dear of dear one for the SE region methinks.

Had a fine sunny start, with a gusty east - southeast breeze picking up, though the sun has now gone and it's been dark to the south with downpours approaching on radar and the first spots of rain have just started falling.

Temp 16.8c after reaching 18.7c earlier.

Looks like Glastonbury has another hour of dry weather before it pours down!

Warm, breezy and sunny in Warminster at the moment, with Altocumulus, Cirrus and darker cloud to the S/SW ahead of the rain.

Ooof!I went there one year, after some prolonged dry weather- the ground was perfect for walking about & sitting down etc.. Along came a torrential downpour and tents were washed away from the run-off. I don't envy anybody there this year.post-15177-0-65445300-1403785885_thumb.p

I'm so happy it's chucking it down ... about time too - really not a Sun/Heat type of person.

No rain here, a grey morning but sun trying to appethethe ar now. Really hope its not too wet the next few days and we manage some sun; as this month stands a chance of being warmer, drier and sunnier than average at the moment. The last summer month to do so was June 2010.

You maybe in luck!..... Looks light & patchy tonight, tomorrow doesn't look half as bad as they were forecasting and into the weekend, pretty much dry :good:

Just started to tip it down here - what an irony, first day of Glasto and it rains for the first time in weeks!

Had about an hour of heavy rain here after a little light drizzle.  Starting to look brighter now.

Grand total of 2.4mm.  Thought that it would be more than that.

7.4mm fell here, more than I thought. At least it should be a dry evening for my birthday, perhaps a rumble of thunder tomorrow? That would be nice.:)
