Am noticing the nights drawing in now quite quickly. Always quite a wistful feeling for me, especially as I’m a bit of a S.A.D. sufferer. Luckily it’s been a fabulous summer for sunshine amounts, so I don’t feel shortchanged moving towards autumn.

It was too hot at times. And it’d be good not to be in a drought, of course. But what a summer for enjoying outdoors activities. Looks like it’s not over yet, either.

Hope it stays above 20c until late October. Wouldn’t that be lovely lol.

Yes, extreme heat can do one but pleasant warmth is always welcome. By late October it’s nice to get seasonal mists/fogs and frosts by night, but sunny, warm days are lovely

Summer 2022 has been my favourite since 2018. Hands down much sunnier across all 3 summer months, compared to 2019, 20 and 21.

Woke up at 5am to do my side job, and noticing the gradual change now.

It was still completely bright by this time around 2-3 weeks ago, but now you see the daylight is still more twilight.

Another week or two, and it will be still dark at 5am.

It’s been the best Summer for me since 1995.

However this morning was the first time the sun came up post 6am which I really noticed on a lie in for me.  Autumn is a coming!!!

Evenings are already such a departure from high summer. Sun's setting just after 8 and there's a chill in the air after dinnertime

One of best summers of 21st century. 2018 is clearly superior summer to this one imo May was also brilliant this May was poor, even though August was worse. Sunshine has not been phenomenal.

Just passed 200 hours of sunshine, so it's the first summer with more than 200 hours of sunshine in all three months since 1989 for us.

I would have been happy to have had a repeat performance of summer 2018.

It was hot for much of the time, but not ridiculously hot like the two heatwaves we've seen this summer. We also got somewhat acclimatised to the temps seen in summer 2018 as it went on for so long and the warm up was more gradual, whereas this summer the heatwaves were more erratic. As a result, August that year came as a bit of a shock. But really it was quite pleasant as far as Augusts go.

Nearly reaching peak rate loss of daylight.. its from here on in, really start to notice loss, especially on overcast evenings. Those wonderful light nights long gone..

Wonder when we are going to start feeling the wonderful autumn chill to go with the diminishing light evenings?!

Soon I hope. Sick of the constant muggy, sweaty nights.

Noticeably darker now. So good to not be woken up very early by the rising sun in June and July with the birds going crazy. Entering my favourite slice of the year now - late August to late March.

Agree 100%!  Now, if only the weather would get the message and cool down a little more.

Yeah, I remember when I lived in Toronto, you would lose daylight much quicker compared to the U.K.

Its further south.

Yeah Edmonton is as far north as my location. Since this time last month we've lost almost 2 hours of daylight.
