Yep, it soon comes around!  Light beginning to fade around 7pm now.

Always seems to be the case, when it reaches late May around my birthday, the anticipation of summer is upon us, but September comes round before you know it.

Very heavy rain tonight and low cloud cover made it seem like darkness was descending around 6:45, about an hour before sun set. This, plus this weeks gradually cooling maxima, giving us the first true taste of autumn here.

Well, it’s been quite a summer alright. However, mid September certainly marks the end for me. Creeping darkness already setting in with cloudcover, with a northerly setting in! Wont be long until them hopefully crisp, frosty mornings!

Losing a lot of daylight now. Still not quite in the dark half of the year, I'd say that is when we start to have less than 12 hours of equal daylight but we're steadily approaching it which begins on the 26th of this month here. And stays that way until 19th March when we start to have more than 12 hours.

This is the time of year where it really makes a difference to how light it feels depending one whether we have a pleasant Indian summer or whether we descend into our usual grey and wet Autumn weather.

Fast losing light now.. on overcast days such as today, curtains firmly need drawing by 7pm. In 4 weeks it will be half 4!

Dark while late on a morning now!

Not pleasant getting up for a 7.30am shift now. Looking forward to the clocks going back.

Losing light rapidly now, clocks go back in 2 and half weeks, then its as dark in the evenings as it is in mid January.

It was an overcast end to the day here, so it had a dark feel to it way before 6pm.

Soon, It'll be dark whilst watching "The Chase" 📺

For my neck of the woods, Saturday will be seeing the first pre 6pm sunset since the 8th of March.

2 evenings left before we switch to winter mode..

I find it slightly more bearable since working from home (most of the time) became a thing. That first Monday in the office the day after the clocks go back was always a shock with the pre-5pm contrast of the newly black skies against the harsh artificial brightness of the office lights. Then, there'd be the first commute home in full darkness since around early February.

Yes I'm in a similiar circumstance, but it's still a shock regardless. Agree it's the Monday you notice it most rather than Sunday. Need to make most of lunchtime breaks, essential to get out and about..

Two days until everyone has to light their homes for an extra hour? It'll be even more wasteful and costly in late February and March...🤔
