Wife phoned to say it's heavy snow in Darvel at the moment.

She say's its fun and games at the school as it sits on a hill and the Lollipop lady is stopping the traffic to let the kids cross and nobody can get going again.

I've asked her to send me some pics.

Looked at the radar earlier and there looked like there was a shower at about 6 which gave the covering in Grangemouth. On closer inspection it wasn't a cm but just enough to make the ground completely white. Started snowing just as I left to go to polmont train station where about 1cm or 2 was on the ground. On the train to Edinburgh travelling away from the snow where the sun is out but the cloud is approaching from the west.

Here's what we managed to get. Not much but better than nothing.

Just a pity I'm at work.post-14156-0-14293300-1421226976_thumb.jpost-14156-0-47908600-1421226985_thumb.j

Traffic chaos on the school run. A few cars getting stuck. Snow falling heavier now but still those tiny flakes. Now to try to get to work.... It's all very pretty though :-)

Really coming down now with big flakes.   When does this turn to rain?

Not much being said about the eventual wind so I take it that it isn't as bad as originally forecast for here?

Make that snowing very heavily at Kings Buildings in Edinburgh with a strong wind although the flakes are fairly small

A foot here, bit more in parts. Aviemore reporting the same apparently. Just started snowing again in the last 30mins, very powdery snow so problematic for drifting

I'll see if I can post a pic or two, keep having problems whenever I've tried straight from my iPhone though??
