An impressive photo (nicked from the WInterHighland forum) of 40-odd centimetes of snow in Aviemore this morning.

Wow that is some snowfall!! . Just popped in to this thread as not had one snowflake for 22 months and very envious of you all up there.Mibnd you there is possibility that even down in SE we might see snow next week.In the meantime you all enjoy the snow up there. Although there is a 12hr warm sector from about 6pm this evening it is due to turn colder from tomorrow morning and snow showers looking likely again for you guys and then the real cold starts on the weekend. Exiting times and stay safe tonight in the storm.

Wow this morning's snow caused chaos on the A82 north of Spean Bridge.  I couldn't believe how much snow fell in the space of an hour.  We've had some sleat this afternoon but the snow is still between 2 - 4 inches deep having probably been about 6-8 inches deep at most.  Distinct lack of snowploughs until this afternoon when they finally came down the A87.  The forecasts are very interesting and it looks like we're going to get a good selection of Scottish weather over the coming week - wha’s like us?… damn few, an’ they’re a’ moanin on the MT...or mibbies no this week!

GIANT snowflakes coming down. Had another 3-5cm overnight so overall I'm guessing theres around 15cm+ lying currently with the snow back on. Wondering what the final total will be? :D

Still nothing in Glasgow. Nothing. Getting fed up with this.

Maybe the weekend will provide something better, not holding out much hope!

I think the radar is about an hour ahead with the band. The heavy stuff seems to be in places furher west than it indicates. I noticed last night it was about an hour out.

I lived in Glasgow for years while studying at uni there and working. While there's the odd good event, I was glad to get back to Inverness winter weather wise. Lovely when it does snow though, especially the West End!

A lot of rain here now, looks like the taps are fully open and they won't be shut off until nearly midnight. Winds not that strong but those are coming tomorrow in place of the rain.
