Birghtish coudy this morning. Hopefully, there will be a few glimmers of sun for a treat. Dry and not windy, so OK really.

The weather is SO boring these days... :lazy:

Its not going anywhere for at least a couple more days.

These North European highs are boring unless we have cold pooling in western europe before they establish. Thinking further out,. I notice that the cold air is moving thru Moscow now towards us. How long will it take to reach us if the high stayed put? (Unlikely I know). My guess would be 4- 5 days, assuming a speed of 20 MPH.

.

Anyway current 5.1C, cool and cloudy, looks unlikely for any sun here today.

Its mothers day so wont be going outside much!!!

Yuck think there's only been one Sunday this year the sun's come out!!!! I see next weekend shaping up the same already.

Potential sunny high downgrades to more stratomurk seems to be the theme, count me out till Spring arrives.

It actually did clear for a couple of hours in the evening, before the muck came in from somewhere else. Really dreary, depressing weather.

This "easterly" has brought exactly the same weather as last months Eurotrash high. Synoptic variation counts for nothing these days it seems, we cant get a sunny high or a decent frost whatever.

Seemed to brighten up at times this afternoon (while out in Sutton Coldfield) after a few showers earlier, although the sky currently has quite a milky, hazy, look to it. Temperature currently around 7.3*C. Doesn't really feel quite as cool as it did earlier.

Bit of a non-descript type of day here. Mostly cloudy with a bit of hazy brightness this morning, but cloudier this afternooon. Maxed out at 6.9C.

A short-lived band of rain has just passed over us, moving south to north. Looks rather longer lasting for you guys further east in the region.

Picog...

Yep I can confirm its been raining mod to heavy now for about an hour.

Temp is now 4.9C and falling.

Also the rain looks 'splodgy'  in the lights outside  now.

I also recorded 30 secs of hail in one of the two earlier heavyish showers.

Same here, the rain is still falling (3hrs now) and the temp is still falling now 4.0C.

Also - the sky is turning orange.

If this keeps up higher part may start to see some whiteness around.

Today started cloudy, but ended up with clear blue skies and sunshine. A high of 9.1C. That's more like it, could do with a few more sunny days.

Cripes, temp here has just dipped below freezing. Rather unexpected, but nice to see nonetheless!

Hope not, drained from all this gloom now, crystal clear at the minute but still got that smoggy mist so no chance of seeing Northern Lights, and rather nippy at 0.4c

Has anyone spotted the northern lights South of brum tonight?

Can`t see no northern lights, the stars are all out too,can maybe see the zodiac light out west though.

Solar eclipse Friday 95% apparently which I thought I`d never see again after 1999.

Didn't see any northern lights here either despite the clear skies and very dark location.

MIA in the end we went down to -2.9C, spent all night in freezing temps.

Woke to a lovely frosty scene. Looks a bit more like a September morning than a March one, but hey I'm not complaining. Gorgeous.
