Drizzly fog this morning and 12C. It's better than yesterday though, mainly because the north-westerly has gone... for now.

For the first time in the entire day, the clouds have broken just enough to allow some very weak sunshine through, which is gradually getting brighter.

A sunny afternoon here since about 3. Makes up for the terrible convective set up. It's warm as well despite the on-shore breeze, 19.3°C.

Was there a threat of storms ?? So disinterested at moment never noticed :(..

Never for here as usual this year. See my post from yesterday below.

Couldn't be a worse setup hear for tomorrow. A NWerly/WNW flow, cold SSTs, suppressed air temps and stubborn cloud. Enjoy the cells in the south-east, again.

Certainly a better journey home than to work. Even the cold wind has disappeared (for now at least).

A day with a bit of everything. A cloudy damp morning with low cloud, then short sharp showers lunchtime and early afternoon, then a break in the cloud mid afternoon with some lengthy sunny spells late afternoon and evening. The cloud has rolled in over the last half hour, otherwise a very fine clear evening would have been hard.

We have had few clear still summer evenings this June, lets hope things change to make the most of the light nights, in a months time we will be loosing light again, but until then we have a good month of very long evenings. This is by far the best time of year!

Yesterday's time-lapse. It pretty much sums up what this June has been like up here in the North West:

The quaity is a bit poor on this one too, unfortunately. I had a few problems with the rendering...

Back home again after a week's holiday of sun and warmth with alcohol thrown in for good measure.

We left the UK last Friday with weather conditions actually approaching summer but came back to our 2015 default of a cool NW breeze so I assume that our heatwave could be counted in hours rather than days.

Anyway only 16 weeks to the next one by which time no doubt our months' of winds from a cool direction will have been replaced by mild ones just in time for winter.

Cheers mate, hot days but surprisingly cool evenings and not a drop of rain throughout.

And for all of the heat, we could still stand on the balcony and see snow on the mountains in the distance.

A potentially nice day ruined by the wind. It wasn't quite the freezing cold crap which plagued May but the strength of it is just ridiculous.

At least we go into much more of a south-westerly next week, so we should finally lose some of this constant stratocumulus crap. Also, the temperatures should be more summer-like too, so as far as I'm concerned, next week will be a much better week to the last eight weeks here.

Yesterday was quite sunny but that damn wind kept temperatures well below normal, max 14.7c which is at least 3c below normal.

June so far is 2c below normal so looking at a very cool month so far, it must be the worst May/June combination since 1979.

Why couldn't we have these negative anomalies in winter! Imagine January 2c below normal and double the precipitation!

Can always dream.

Currently 12.8°C with sunny intervals and that ever present NW onshore wind. Had 0.8 mm of rain this morning from mostly light showers. minimum temp overnight was 10.9 and the max yesterday was 18.1.

if we had the same setup in january it would probably be above normal,  ie , winds contant off the atlantic for weeks and weeks, which I would welcome n being a mild winter fan   :D ,   but not in summer , I want warmth, sun and storms from the south  , but this is the fickle uk weather we are talking about and what we want hardly happpens,,  its a case of what you get, like it or lump it  :nonono:
