1st June, start of meteorological summer, grey, windy, cold - currently 11C @ 1:30pm. Change of month, no change in the autumnal weather. You couldn't make it up :cold:

A great quote in the moaning thread "its like winter but in

reverse"how very true.just seems to me that this country

geographicaly sucks, cannot achieve a decent snowfall in winter

and struggle to get a warm/hot spell in summer (7 days plus)

Moan over, now back to chasing a decent hot spell LOL

Yes, the British climate seems to have degenerated into "Forever Autumn" - and late Autumn at that.

Again, according to a forum member all I do is come on here and whinge about the weather. So for the record, it's June, cloudy, dull, with a cold NW wind and just touching 10c. It really doesn't get any better than this...fantastic!  So happy right now!

Heavy rain, 50-60mph gusts and about -2c feels like -20c, worst day of the year imo especially as its on monday and meteorological the first day of summer, fed up.

I think I'll move to Texas to my sister, no snow there, but at least they can get humongous storms, flash floods etc

then afterwards within minutes it's back to roastie toastie sunshine................. I have even tried reverse psychology on the

weather I bought a trench mac, thinking I wouldn't need it.............winter fleece still in my jacket

and electric blanky on the bed, 'hello British summer'

Never mind, at least the heavy rain will damped the dust that the gale would otherwise be blowing about.

Bedding plants blasted by last nights pea size hail now blasted by wind and rain ,think I'll concrete it over ,even the grass has stopped growing ...:(.

Not having to cut the grass is the only positive I can take from this weather.

Cut it on BH Monday for the first time for nearly a month and it's hardly grown since.

So dark I need room lights, fan heater blasting away, gale driving rain against the windows, my outdoor sensor shows 8.9C.  Welcome to the British "summer" :wallbash:

Whereabouts does your sister live? It does snow in Texas, though rarely along the Gulf coast. Inland places like Dallas usually get a bit every winter and the Panhandle can actually get quite a lot (Amarillo averages 18 inches per year).

You know things are grim when Dianne is salivating over a forecast of 18C.

Oh dear first day of summer more like first day of October. A miserable day that has just got worse and worse. Heavy rain since lunchtime and an ever increasingly strong wind. Current temp 8.2 degrees.

Its grim outside right now, feels like an October evening, grey leaden skies..

Its just miserable.

Reached a mixima here of 10C. I'm getting June 2012 flashbacks today. Luckily it won't last beyond tomorrow (hopefully).

Yes a nasty little squall - with very gusty winds and temps tumbling over half a degree, currently 7.6 degrees.
