Someone told him it was going to snow this winter in Wiltshire.

A breath of fresh air this morning, quite literally, as the temperature fell to 03.5C. Lovely sunshine this morning and clear skies this morning - amazing that Carlisle was on the news again this morning with a newsreader out there in the pouring rain!

I'm no further forward in knowing what the next week or so will bring as every single model run from each model is different. So far it seems 50/50 mild/cold so until there's any sort of consistency I don't think there's any need to get excited or indeed worried. Unfortunately though it does look like the second half of this week is going to be a just a tad wet!

It shows how this Autumn/Winter is going when you get excited at finding a your car windscreen is frozen at 06.30!

After a 2.8c min it has again rebounded into double figures and is currently 10.8c under clear blue sky and sunshine.

The little cold snap of Wednesday morning, down to 6.9c has gone.
11 - 12.5 overnight, 11.6c now with a lot of grey cloud this morning, not the blue skies of late.
SW to SSW light wind.

Mostly cloudy and windy today.

Temp: 12.9°C - Hum: 78% - Bar: 1024.27 hPa - Wind: SW gusting to 27mph.

Looks like drizzly poop later, instead of the heavy & prolonged rain that was forecast yesterday.

Another awful short-range forecast from the BBC website : "Some patchy rain in the South"

Actual: "Belting it down all morning"

Definitely one of those wave developments again, indeed it looked like patchy rain/drizzle earlier this morning and since then quite a pronounced area of rain has developed stretching from Oxford to North Devon, which has just given a period of heavy rain here in north Bristol. Unpleasant to say the least.

And even the 12pm forecast on the BBC website hasn't been updated to reflect this. If they can't get a 'nowcast' right, the accuracy of their longer range forecasts that some people pay great heed to is certainly called into question.

We are 11 days into December and all of them have reached double figures. I had thought today might stay below 10c due to the proximity of colder air and the front hanging around, however it got up to 10.6c around 13.00 before dropping away again in the last hour to 8.8c now.

Ironically we might end up with one of the coldest nights of the month tonight as the sky clears for a few hours before the Warm Front returns Northwards tomorrow morning.

Yes, double figures here in Reading every day so far this month as well.  We missed out on the heavy rain today and just had a spell of patchy light rain at lunchtime and otherwise no more than a few spots.

Oh my god!! Could it get any worse than this? As some one has pointed out that most if not all the days so far have been in double digits, so what can we look forward too? my gut feeling, more of the same!! Nothing remotely interesting on the horizon that I can see personally I'm writing the rest of December off and looking forward to see what January holds, hopefully nothing like December!

Currently 11.1c dew point 9c and raining!!
