Likewise here....already temp of -1c and dewpoint -3c.

Expect you'll be getting a fair bit lower than that in Benson Frosty hollows.

Good old Benson never fails to deliver the cold.Dustbin lid covered with layer of ice already. -2.1C

I see your frosts and I raise you -6.1C. Still not coldest night of winter though. Had a very early hard frost late Nov/early Dec when temps got down to -6.5C. Looks like a cold, clear day ahead so thermals at the ready :cold:

Blimey it's cold this morning, everything coated in a thick frost here, beautiful red sky too. Weather can stay like this until March if it likes, much better than the dank murk yesterday.

Sorry to pile on the misery....but that was my back garden sensor. The official metO stats have it down to -8.2 last night. Definitely this years winner.

Yesterday's cold, grey, dampness was how I imagine December to be, but this morning is a lot more like January. Not a severe frost by any means but minimum of -01.8C, making it the lowest so far this winter (which is quite pathetic so far into the winter really).

I've put out the flags and bunting!

-1.2° at the 4.5m station and -1.9°C at the 1.5m one. Still frosty and 0°C now.

I gotta ask (being a newbie)  but in mod thread they mentioned easterly and SWW How much will that have influence in our area, over the years I'm getting the idea about the charts but as an overall picture of the UK not just a certain area (if you get what I mean) thanks.

Benson always does well with minimums, it must be (as your name suggests) in a frost hollow.

It was a starry sky this morning as I left home, I'm currently in training for a cycling event in the summer and my training today was to ride to work in Bristol, it was flippin freezing my sat nav suggested it was -5C but I think it was a degree or so warmer than that, not that it helped much :) there looked to be some broken cloud to the south west which has now dispersed giving a Gin clear blue sky. I'm loving this.
