Proper cold chill in the breeze this evening, noticeable difference from late afternoon, what will the weather Santa bring us good folk of Yorkshire?

Comon snow. Were so close to a 4-6 hour snow event. Please not pushed any further north.

Crikey euro4 overnight was insane for our region until this mornings update

when does it update again again?

Still in the teeth of a chilly Easterly here?

When do we get our 'warmth'?

Morning. Early rain now stopped and the cold air is easing in. Temps down to 2.5C.  Dew point now heading in the right direction as well at 1.8C it was matching the air temp in the early hours.

Happy Christmas to everyone in the best regional thread!

And yes, I’m with you @Empire Of Snow, I reckon snow line will be no lower than 200m but more likely 300m and only where precipitation is heavier.  I’ll be happy if I’m wrong and we wake up to a covering tomorrow.

Maybe DPs will be low enough for snow? I didnt have the time to check DPs.

Merry Christmas all. Dry, bright and fairly cold in Lincolnshire. At least dew point is sub zero and its not raining.

I kind of worry that the pre Christmas meltdown of properly festive weather prospects might have been my fault. My weather station had been off line for about three months but on basis of models pulled out the stops to get it working again. Within 12 hours of me doing this all had gone t***s up. Sorry

My step-son is high up west of Bradford and reports a dusting of snow this morning followed by a bit of rain.  Radar shows that he's also now maybe about to see the very light snow that skirted Sheffield a couple of hours ago.

The band of drizzle that that is snow at its northwest end near Halifax is turning sleety across Lincolnshire now as it heads north so more central and eastern areas of Yorkshire look like maybe seeing a tiny bit of snow this evening.

Hoping for a bit of Snow at Leeds Bradford airport as I've had a little bet on a White Christmas at that location, a single flake will do.

Actually not been a bad day at the coast, a keen east wind, and tops of about 4c but dry and sunny. Seeing as I had to drive into Hull to pick sis-in-law up not sorry there was no snow. We are home tomorrow so it can do what it likes now.

White Christmas on the highest hills in Sheffield at 400m+

White Christmas much lower down had a few flakes at lunchtime. Had turned back to rain later in the afternoon though.

Weather warning out for South Yorkshire now.

No warning now so must have been removed fairly quickly. Still a big ask for tonight though most likely rain or sleet if anything reaches us that is.
