Weather warning out now for tonight. Really need this to come off for us all cuz rest of the week is looking as poor as December for snow. Let's hope we can all get a cm or two 🌨️🤞

I suppose we have the time of day on our side. Very early morning, just need to hope precipitation is quite heavy to bring the snowline down.

The Met Office do mention they are not expecting snow to low levels but could turn to snow in heavier or prolonged showers.

Well it’s a cracking day today after the wild night last night. Could hear the wind battering the house much of the night. The cold frame in the garden, that was blown over in Thursday’s wind but had remained largely intact, is well & truly smashed to smithereens now!

The day is blue skies, some cloud & lots of sun, but the temperature has definitely dropped now. Low of 3c overnight (clear skies last night were absolutely amazing), 4c daytime temp, although the cold breeze is feeling more like 2c. A lovely walk up to the woods to see my friend Woody the Buzzard 😄. Certainly feeling cold enough to snow but let’s see what tomorrow brings ❄️

Latest forecast for tonight from the NMM. The track has remained the same but looks like there is less intensity which isn't good news for those lower down.

Not expecting anything here at only 50m elevation tonight.  Any precipitation looks light and so just light rain looks favoured 🙄

Warning was just for ice from the beginning. On further details it mentions the possibility of 2-5cm snow accumulation.

That said, if METO can't track a feature 8h before it happens we can't really do anything. I've seen some charts having it intensifying north of Leeds and somewhat pivoting afterwards. Simply I don't have a clue and I'd rather expect nothing and be surprised.

Well only a few hours out and all the models still can't agree on the track of any precipitation tonight.

The warning from the Met Office is quite a large area which suggests to me they have no clue either, looks like a good old fashioned radar watch overnight and keep everything crossed.

Mixed in with a bit of now casting and lamp post watching, although if it happens it will be nearer breakfast time if ure an early bird, 🤞

Yeah I'm heading to work 5.30am just outside Malton.

Plenty of showers forecast for our area later Weds/Thurs but milder 850s are dragged in off North Sea so looks like rain.

Just popped out to the log store and the car is frozen over, will be interesting to see were the temps bottom out tonight?

Watching the radar, the track doesn't look great for us. Perhaps more experienced eyes would disagree?

I'm not so sure either but we're currently under a SW flow, it will change more to WSW later and then NW. If some charts are right the ppn will some kind pivot?

Garden temp gauge is reading 0.6c already (sheltered position). At least it’s still tonight.

A tropical 3 degrees here. Some showers popping up which will be rain here perhaps something wintry on the highest peaks in the peak district. If they push further north you may get lucky.
