Tbf, my old chalk cottage maybe has soaked up a bit of heat and is retaining it internally? Just popped outside and it is cooling off but it is very still this eve, no 'sleeves' required tho, quite warm & pleasant out!

Phew, I stand corrected….I’ve just been upstairs and it’s still mafting up there! Just put a fan on. Downstairs is just pleasant.

Unlikely the August record will be broken for us. Surprising considering the high uppers we've got. Hazy sunshine should kill today's chances off.

Yeah, noticed we're behind schedule here again lol. Met office predicts 23c for maltby at the moment online for this hour but it's only approaching 19c here, so a couple degrees down.

They think it'll get to 31 here today so I'll be watching closely 🥵

Yeah noticed past few days have been slightly cooler here Andy. Must be perfect wind direction off the field next to us and been a bit of a breeze off it.

I checked wunderground in case my station was faulty but 3 all showing 21c now round my area and so is mine, so must be a local thing...

What a fantastic week this has been in Bridlington with a vast amount of unbroken sunshine and decent temperatures.

Nights have been beautiful too with a gentle breeze at times. I don't think you will get much better than this .

Bridlington has rarely looked better and perhaps a glance back at the amazing summer of 1976 recently !

Also Scarborough has smashed it's old record from 1990 by around 4c last month - simply stunning !

Have a great Sunday everyone and enjoy the sunshine ☀️☀️☀️

Blimey just been out and it felt cool. Sun behind a cloud. Reckon temperatures may peak around 28C to 29C here

Not much in the way of rain on tonight's GFS and since it over does the rain generally it's not a good outlook. We also pick up warm air of the Atlantic so still very warm to hot but nights near average which will help.

The big surprise for me is the fact that August 2003 still holds onto the hottest day record.

Temperature not wanting to drop much this evening still 29C degrees. Probably the warmest night of the lot coming.

Already down to 18.1C here. We only reached 26.0C briefly despite the more ambitious forecasts showing 30C.

I do like this time of year with this kind of weather, sat outside @9.30 in shorts n t-shirt nice n warm but its dark, something very relaxing about it, few bats dipping about, combines humming in the background, (although most farmers finished harvest) Tranquil....😁

We reached 26C today too, surprising how many people were feeling ‘cool’ earlier today, it felt bloody hot to me. Felt humid even though the readings were saying otherwise. Someone said on Summer Chat how different we all ‘feel’ heat.

I do love the sun so but I’m looking forward to a break in temps if only to get the internal temps down again. Still feeling unpleasant upstairs, but hey, I’m sure I’ll miss it when it’s gone!

Tranquil indeed @Wold Topper, however, interspersed with thundering tractors belting home to the farm before any rains do come! It’s the reason I’ve had to close windows on the front of the house as certain guests are now in bed trying to sleep 😴
