Its weird how the temp gauge belies how we feel, i thought this evening 'felt' warmer than previous evenings but the stats disagree, and yesterday the afternoon felt the hottest of this recent spell? I suppose it can depend on what your are doing in your specific locale??

We reached 26C today too, surprising how many people were feeling ‘cool’ earlier today, it felt bloody hot to me. Felt humid even though the readings were saying otherwise. Someone said on Summer Chat how different we all ‘feel’ heat.

I do love the sun so but I’m looking forward to a break in temps if only to get the internal temps down again. Still feeling unpleasant upstairs, but hey, I’m sure I’ll miss it when it’s gone!

Tranquil indeed @Wold Topper, however, interspersed with thundering tractors belting home to the farm before any rains do come! It’s the reason I’ve had to close windows on the front of the house as certain guests are now in bed trying to sleep 😴

Local farm still going strong at 11pm, John deer tractors still flying up n down the street, must be the last hurrah, most local farms are all combined up and are sharpening their disc's n ploughs!

Shower activity better than expected, first wave inbound for South and West Yorkshire over the next hour or so.

Quite grey and misty this morning here, humid, and still 19-20C. Lunchtime bike ride will be at lunchtime unlike the end of last week. If the sun does break through I think it will end up feeling muggy and unpleasant. Really getting impatient for some fresher and cooler weather.

Well well well ... What is this in the sky ! Yes indeed finally some cloud cover around in Bridlington after what has been a gloriously blue skies / sunshine long spell. It's actually very pleasant out there today , perhaps a little humid.

Cut the grass this morning for the first time in 3 weeks (been getting a heavy dew down overnight so that has given it plenty of moisture for growth in the shade ).

Long live the great great summer of 2022 🌞🌞🌞

That arrives tomorrow batten down the hatches kind sir !

Looks to be some significant activity in North Lincs looking at radar, a line of heavy rain/storms over the Lincolnshire Wolds, with Horncastle looking to be affected. Rain rates according to radar are 100mm/hour+.

Update: another interesting blip that is developing between Market Weighton and Driffield

Yes I have noticed this development .. my word rain is falling not so far away !

Bright sunshine in Bridlington at the moment, wind has picked up so that's something different.

Nothing here so far. Disappointing!

After a week of high temps you think we could manage a decent storm as a reward but nothings happened as per usual!

Just cloudy and breezy now 🥺

It's not moving very far now, the North sea might see the best of the rain 🤷

A few spots of torrential rain if you were a midge today. The normal none thundery whimp of a breakdown here. Will need to water the garden again. One of these days we may get a surprise although I think we used our ten year allocation up a couple of years ago.

Couple of spots of rain just now, looks like it has fizzled out in my locale, 🙄

Well you all sound disappointed! I’ve just had a great drive through North East Lincs and followed the storm! You were right @mike57, it produced a good storm! As we drove off the Wolds about 3pm there was an impressive cell (really tall elevation) that appeared to be sitting over the Humber. As we got down to the bridge heavy rain showers began. But it wasn’t until Louth that we reached the thunder & lightning. I followed it back for about 30mins & stopped off at the airport to watch it properly. It was moving ahead of me & I thought it would have headed this way but it’s obviously dissipated somewhere along the way as it’s still so dry up here! I did experience a lightning bolt which appeared to strike across the road I was travelling on as everything in front of me went very bright white & my life flashed before me 😆. Think it was a lucky near miss!

Can't remember the last time I heard thunder, years ago!....
