Looking at radar looks like a very heavy amount of snaw in the boarders area/ north of Englandshire..

Had some light-moderate snow up here in Perth but snow struggled to maintain intensity and temperature was just to warm for much settling to happen. 3rd day of seeing snow flakes falling out the sky here , and 1 day with a light covering of snow which was Sunday morning.

Heavy snaw shower passing through here. Not sure it will last long.. been a good few days had 4 days of laying snaw and seen plenty falling.. only downside has been to totally devastated woodland around these parts and still some folk without power..

The only positive is there will be huge amounts of firewood for sale.

Anyway, not as cold this morning at 3°C. Still a decent covering of snow in place

Dew point is at 5⁰C.

Sunny, light winds and cool at 3c (frigid max of 1c yesterday).  About a cm of snow still on the ground.

Still some houses without power to the north of us, so the debacle not over yet.  Many lessons to be learnt by all parties - they better do, but it looks like it's going to disintegrate into another political mudslinging exercise.

Turns out that quite a few people round here have had boiler issues since the power came back on - power surges frying the electrics supposedly.  Will find out monday if it's the same story here.

A really nice day here now, blue skies, light winds and 7c/4c. It's always great to see the sun at this time of year.

Thought its worthwhile mentioning the low moving across the country tonight I dont expect snow for a lot of us but could be some squallier conditions especially as the precip wraps back around toward Fife & Edinburgh animlza2.gif animnno6.gif

Trudging around in mud again today feeding cattle .Would love to see a dry frosty morning. Not very warm at a maximum of 6c. Back to tidying leaves and fallen branches in garden.Filled a tractor bucket.

However fairly bright at midday but getting cooler a fresh cap on Ben Wyvis  20211203_114904(1).thumb.jpg.6b0325749ddc78615bd984959a315f34.jpg and lots of drifts left from the last weeks weather  which will still be there into next May now on the mountains to the NW. Think mountains will retain snow cover from now on and maybe lowground can join in.

I'm back in Canada after 3 months in Kilmacolm looking after my knee-less Dad, thanks for having me and I hope you get crazy snow soon.

The trip home was good, some fantastic views over Greenland and a few flakes of snow on arrival. It's currently -5C with some winter sunshine this morning:

Aww, fantastic! It baffles me that when Canada-bound planes pass over Greenland, 99% of folk on the plane AREN'T looking out the window. I'm glued to it for hours!!

yes at the moment looks  for those with elevation but given the changes last few runs every chance ends up a decent event. We are in the game as they say in the smyths toys thread.

Before it turns to sleet/rain we have a couple of inches of quite heavy snow here after really chucking it down this morning.

Very wet again overnight fields flooded and snow down to about 1200 feet as sky broke to the north an hour ago.
Cows not getting out to neeps today .Will just get extra silage. As stated on the model thread by some more mature members its just an old school start to winter as the permenant  snow line descends week by week with temperatures even at this level in low single figures for the past ten days or so. Currently 5c,overcast but stopped raining with a bit of a clearence to the north and low winter light levels.

aye I've been in Edinburgh... flakes are huge as drive to the bridge now. Not seen charts today but could be sleet/snow/rain a few times this week going off last nights offerings.
