Weatherwise, a very pleasant winters day where the frost didn’t lift in the shade at the back of the garden. Not a cloud in the sky all day.

Not in the yellow warning area for Tuesday but hopeful I will see some white stuff given I have a wee bit of elevation.

Won’t be going out to search for the snow if we don’t get any here as I feel absolutely rotten and have a positive lateral flow. Suppose I was always going to get it at some point! .

Not a bad day at all.

Cloudy first thing but clearing then to mainly clear sunny skies with a max of 5c.

Clear skies now allowing temperatures to plummet, -4.1c and house feeling baltic as a result.  The heated seat pad comes into its own when the boiler is bust!

Trying not to be creepy but just attempting to work out where your house is. In that photo is the left effectively looking south towards Tillyfourie? I sort of recognise the split patch of trees on top of the hill in the centre too. Don't think the houses in the centre look like the back end of Keig, but my guess would be somewhere that direction i.e. NE of Alford itself.

A tad warmer here then at -2.5C. Felt fine working in garden thus morning for a bit but during a walk not much later up Sui Hill area felt baltic with even just a light breeze.

Glad our heating kicked back in without a hitch after 4 days without power, that really would have taken the biscuit, especially after just paying so much to have it put in.

It was a glorious day from beginning to end with cloudless blue skies, next to no wind, and a seasonal chill in the air. Evocative of a proper winter to come. Loved it.

High temperature of the day was 4.1⁰C at 13:30 dropping to -1.6⁰C now, pressure has reversed from rocketing upwards to dropping like a rock at 1013.1hPa, my rain meter picked up 0.2mm of precipitation out of a cloudless sky, which is patently wrong and must have been melting frost, and the dew point is now at -3⁰C.

Morning,

Head towards Castle Forbes from yours, take the left turn as you exit Keig, and the house is further up the hill. I think it sits around 160 meters asl.

I got lucky when I was searching for a building plot as the Castle Forbes estate were planning to sell some plots. I managed to buy the pick of the plots before they were advertised.

The house was completed in 2004 and the winter that year saw snow drifts approaching a meter on the north side of the house. Quite a shock compared to Aberdeen life.

Very heavy rain in Glasgow for 20-30 minutes there, accompanied by a very long rumble of thunder. Dark and incredibly driech, the weather I recall as a child going to school!

Last of the rain cloud just coming through with blue sky beyond but looks like more rain behind it.

Not unexpected given the trend on snowfall forecasts over the last week (often happens early in the winter) , but the meto snow warning has been downgraded to a 200m+ event with transient snow to lower levels mentioned in the forecast. (although if you're on the southern uplands, amounts upgraded to 20cm possible!)

The weather today isn’t worth writing home about, but I’ll tell you lot anyway. It’s not good.

High temperature was 5.6⁰C at 08:26 up from a low of 0.2⁰C at midnight and now 4.1⁰C, humidity is 87%, wind is 1 to 5mph west-southwesterly with a maximum gust of 18mph at 13:05, pressure is 997.7hPa falling slowly, there’s been 6.6mm of rain, sleet and hail so far today, cloud cover is 8/8 and the dew point is at 2⁰C.
