A bright, calm day with temperatures hovering around the 5°c mark. All a bit meh really.

Similar here. Mostly sunny with just a few fair weather clouds including some possible lenticulars to the NW. Had a stroll down by the grassy beach towards Broughty Ferry. Loads of oyster catchers right along the shore but not sure if pics picked them up. Moon looked weird through thin cloud too.

Partially sunny, high of 6.4C (3 am), low of 2.1C (midnight), currently 5.3C. Calmish most of the day, but a biting wind late morning as I gave my car it's currently weekly wash due to the local farmers ploughing the roads, or fields, its difficult to tell at times.

Last couple of days much of a same.

Sunny cold start, then more in the way of cloud in the afternoon.

Max today of 7.1c - that being the current temperature!

The rise in temperature over the last few hours accompanied by a freshening W wind, now strong and gusty.

Bennachie looking not too bad this afternoon (another nice red sunset this evening as well, though not quite as intense as Wednesday's effort)...

Yesterday saw a day of sun after 8 days of cloud, greyness and gloom. Today, it’s grey again and without a breath of wind.

A sunny day here with a coolish breeze. Temp just now 6C. Sun setting up the river a wee while ago.

Cloudless skies on the way home from work. Currently 2.6C after a daily high of 9.4C at around 2pm.

Having said that, it's mid Jan, long nights, no cloud, little wind, it should get pretty cold overnight, but will it?

It may be boring but blue skies all day with the mud disappearing is heavenly to me working outside  but we could do  without the gusty wind we had occasionally today. currently clear and 3.5c so maybe a frost on the way .The gritter was on the A96 at 4.00pm so they must be expecting a frost.

Noted -3°c on the car display on the approach to the house around 8pm. Roads are bone dry so no problems with ice etc.

Some snow showers possible in the north-east on Wednesday. Apart from that, the HP looks like staying here or hereabouts for a while yet.

Was a pleasant afternoon for a walk yesterday, but didn’t feel much like mid-winter.

The Hyndford Monument on Carmichael Hill - so everyone remembers how important the 2nd Earl of Hyndford was!

This may or may not have been suggested in the forum before but has anyone tried turning this winter off then on again at the plug?? As with some others, the sunrises/sunsets have been the only redeeming quality in this tedious recent spell. Currently -2.4c so the return of some frost is at least welcome. Couple from today’s commute.

Days like this do put you in the mood for spring.

Lovely sunny day with just a little cloud in the morning....

Clear skies by dusk...

Calm conditions with a max of 8.3c, currently -2.1c and the grass is sparkling in the full moon.

The lengthening days now noticeable in the evening and the greenhouse actually got up to 16c today, so some strength in the sun reappearing as well.

Must be cold pooling lower down then as the local weather station here, 250m altitude, is still showing 2.2C and its been bouncing around about that since 5pm.

Morning all

Apologies for disappearing abruptly last year. I wasn't in a good place and felt it best to take a break. Largely resolved - or at least accepted - now.  I hope all is well with you all.

Just trying to figure out what's happened with multiple threads. Looks like @Ravelin pretty much has his own playground . And we have the same crappy emojis to sprinkle around.

High pressure eh. So tedious. We're getting occasional frosty mornings and not much more to show for winter here after a little thin snow last month.

Cold, dry and calm. Day kicks off with -4°c. If memory serves, this is the coldest temperature I've noted for January 2022.

Pretty well my only wintry photo recently (Boxing Day - does that count as recent?) was this one of ice-bones.

Dull today and 7c currently

Another photo of Storm Arwens damage and the wet weather for 6 weeks after. Gully erosion in field that has been cropped fot 40 plus years with no grass breaks so little organic matter to hold soil together. Not an example of sustainable farming

Not very wintry for early January. This time last year (almost) this was a cascade of ice.
