Well it looks like you'll get your wish come the end of the month. Right now, I'm just looking forward to flushing the excess warmth out of the house. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for sunny weather in the summer, just not the intense heat of the past couple of heatwaves.

It was the duration that made this week less pleasant.  My flat was actually hotter than the July event, and it hasn't cooled today, as there's been not much breeze to help clear the heat out. I just want a decent few days from Sunday (yeah, I  know- gulp), whilst I'm in Blackpool. Just good enough to sit out and enjoy it. 20c will do if there's sun and not too much wind.

Unless something drastic happens, I think the best we can hope for is to see some very distant flashes from the storms over the Midlands/East Wales once it gets dark, that's if they are still going by then of course. Everything in this part of the world is decaying. Rain has just started here, which is the leftovers from the storms that sparked off over North Wales earlier.

Well we might have seen no storms here in the NW but at least London & the SE have seen some rain not that it’ll do much other than wet the ground though given how dry it has been. Fantastic picture  ☔️

Parts of Scotland seem to have has a very wet 24 hours. Eastern parts do need the rain, there it will be welcome. Suspect west of Scotland will end up average or even a bit above average rainfall this summer.

We have a 3 hour opportunity in the evening as winds turn to the north part from that it’s rubbish as usual.

22-23c pretty humid generally overcast but occasionally sun pops through providing even more humid feel…  odd one… had an Orthodox Jewish fellow and his son walk through my garden and around the back of the house… he got aggressive when I said it was private property… and they quickly walked away 🙈🙈🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Weird

Anyhows back to gardening and wood chipping hedge branches…

North West is absolutely dire for thunderstorms...we are stuck in the middle of no mans land with activity to the North & South with neither in any hurry to get to us.  Suns even out in full force now providing no relief to this muggy clammy humid feel...desperately need a clearance to fresher air.

A lone shower has popped up over me in Hadfield.

You guessed it  I put the washing out.

The weather can be spiteful.

Nice warm day, thankfully the heat has now gone away. Fresh breeze tonight from the NE get those windows open. Could really do with rain though. Ground is cracked and dusty again round here.

A line of slow moving thundery showers around Morecambe Bay into far north Lancashire..  Carnforth area.. exactly same spot as Sunday eve. Bone dry here all day.. we have a shield around us. As said give me a frontal feature any day.

It's also quite warm. Inside temps still warm.

Another nonsensical text forecast from the Met. I give up with them. Unless The expected convergence zone this evening sparks anything then it will be wrong.

Heavy showers easing this evening.

This Evening and Tonight:

Thundery showers will ease through the evening, but it will remain cloudy and mild overnight, with a little light rain possible over the tops of the hills. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

What is it about the Irish sea ? , its a storm killer for the populated  mainland of the NW  , but storms will actually form over the water itself , then always push into non populated areas of North Lancs , South east cumbia,  seen this many many times ,  Areas like South Lancs, Manchester etc never seem to be in their track
