Suspect tomorrow morning will be a struggle for many.. day on day home heating combined with higher humidity.. slow start to the week..

Looking at latest FAX gosh a frontal feature appearing Thursday/ Friday bit doesn't look like it has much oomph to it. Heaviest rainfall likely Tuesday from convective thundery outbreaks.

Yeah, humidity rising markedly by tomorrow so a very warm and muggy day to come. I suspect you may be in one of the best locations in the region for convective opportunities later today and tomorrow. It will be interesting to see how the metoffice fine tune their warnings today, or if they maintain the broad brush approach.

By all reports it as been a excellent week of summer weather in the region. Looking at the sunshine totals and average temps from Monday to present, the week possibly ranks one for the memory bank.

A fair bit of cloud starting to bubble up here now, but it makes it a lot more pleasant to sit out in.

A day of rest from garden chores for me today so time to go and do a bit of shopping and then either a walk up to the pub or a few sat out at home.

I just hope that any rogue showers stay away from here, at least until tomorrow.

A cool down for the week ahead but models now hinting at HP dominating  again from next weekend 😀 lovely stuff in the summer that just keeps delivering, not as hot as this current spell but certainly temperatures into the mid twenties will feel pleasant enough.

A rare warm & sunny August Bank Holiday maybe.

Definitely the most uncomfortable day of the heatwave so far as humidity rises 29.5c ☀️

Currently 30.5C here now with very little wind, a degree up on the same time yesterday. Too hot to do much other than sit in front of a fan. Skies seem a little hazier than yesterday and pressure on the way down. Metoffice haven't updated their storm warning for tomorrow and Tuesday, which still covers the same large area.

Clouded over here, but it's quite thin. Wonder if there's an outside chance of a nice surprise late evening/overnight?

Just hit 32C here, so the hottest day of this heatwave. There do seem to be a few clouds bubbling up now.

Hi mate mate hope you're well and everyone in here.

The latter sounds perfect as off to the lakes from 26th, fingers crossed.

Would be nice to see a storm over next couple of days.

31.7c in south Manchester with rh at 36%. Feels steamier than yesterday with quite a few clouds beginning to build. Definitely one of the more memorable summers.

Annoying mid atlantic ridge and it's north westerly outflow scuppering the development of an optimal plume for thunderstorms so far this season. its preventing a plume and swrly lead breakdown of pent up heat and instead we are left with a gradual erosion from the NW. That changes over the next few days as a more established low pushes the nwrly source further nw and instead provides a swrly more convectively optimal erosion of surface heat.

I just want a thunderstorm mate. I’ve endured all this heat this summer and not had one rumble.

The heat is starting to make me feel ill now. Just no escaping it. I think it's the cumulative nature of this wave. Felt OK first few days but I've been having to walk to work during the hottest part of the day for the past 4 days (1.5 mile) and it's catching up with me. Feel hot and drained with a touch of that horrid heat nausea.

To feel a cool breeze on my skin would be something right now. Definitely investing in an air conditioner for next year!

You won't regret getting one mate. Glad we did otherwise it would've been a week of bedroom temps 25C+ and that cannot be healthy. Without one curtains shut makes very little difference to be honest. At least in this house it doesn't. The baking sun on the brick is what does it in this country. That's why in the med they whitewash their houses and have electronic window shutters.

The summer months really aren't for me unless we get crash, bang, flash, so here's hoping...

Second fly-past of the weekend at Woodford by the BBMF Lancs this afternoon as seen from the top end of Lyme Park, a lucky few at Manchester Airport would have also seen it as the route took the Lancs traversing the length of Manchester's runway before heading back NE across Wythenshawe and then on-to Marsden. Visibility wise the humidity means it's a bit hazier than yesterday although the skyscrapers & cranes of Liverpool Docks can still be made out on the distant horizon.
