Thankfully avoiding the heavy rain plaguing the western areas of the region (most of this appears to be moving north) and quite lengthy sunny spells this far east.  Might get a few rogue showers later but not a bad day.

Saturdays looking good, but Sunday might be a magnet for the heavy rain to lie stationary over parts of our region.  Hopefully it will drag it's heels and trend south but  as mentioned those scenarios only seem to happen in winter when snow is in the mix.

I doubt there are any street parties in Porthmadog. Might need the Royal Yacht to rescue people.

Torrential rain on the same spot for some considerable time.

Its not quite Kinder Scout as originally planned but I made the best of the weather regardless and headed out for a local stroll after the Jubilee Carnival was done, fingers crossed for more of the same tomorrow before Sunday's washout arrives.

It's turned into a pretty good afternoon and early evening. Wind just taking the edge off the temperature but with shelter it feels great in the sun. Bbq out as the chances in the next couple of weeks might be limited.

It turned into another decent day today after a damp start. We missed a downpour by a whisker this afternoon, it delivered a few spots of rain for a few seconds as it moved past to our West. Otherwise, there have been decent sunny periods and warm again with a high of 20.6C. Now time for a Chinese takeaway followed by a few ales.

Poor start to the day here but decent from late morning onwards with plenty of warm sunshine this afternoon.

Hopefully tomorrow will deliver as Sunday is looking a bit dodgy for the region.

ROFL I wish, my short-legs would need a step-ladder to get up on that  it seems like any chance (if there was any) of a storm this evening has quickly dissipated leaving a plentyful of blue skies with only a few wispy clouds being lit by the setting sun. Maybe a chance of seeing early-season NLCs if there's any around past sunset.

Still looks like a cold snowy spell is on the way for southern NZ. Would be nice to see this kind of downward trend of temps this winter in this country, who am I kidding it'll probably be 12C on Xmas day.

After a stormy humid overcast day still made it to 30c and sun made an appearance before setting…

no metro tsunami today though…

sounds like it’s been pretty wet start to June at home… hopefully getting rain out of the way for the rest of June

Dry here in Crewe at the moment and quite bright but with dark clouds gathering. I only hope it stays dry for the Queen's Park event today. CreweCold - are you going?

PS loved Tomasz S's red, white and blue outfit on the Beeb last night. What a guy!

Unfortunately I’ve been lumbered with work. Both bank holiday days and the weekend. No extra pay and no days off in lieu!

But don’t worry, I’ll be bringing it up when the Christmas rota is done!

Today has been great. Hope tomorrow behaves as I need to change off side rear handbrake cable.

A disappointingly cloudy and dull start to the day up here, especially with today being the lovely day before Sundays expected washout.

there are a few bits of blue starting to show between the clouds though so hopefully it won’t be long before something better arrives.

Just seen Sundays forecast again and unsurprisingly, non of the last minute downgrades that would be certainties if it was a snow laden system in mid winter.

anyway I’ll keep my hopes up so to quote those in the mad thread…….”southerly correction anyone”Meanwhile a few piccies from this mornings quick pre breakfast walk.

conditions are still surprisingly dry underfoot and nice to see more brightness and blue sky breaking through.

A mostly cloudy start to the day here with the sun poking through every now and again. There do seem to be some decent breaks in the cloud starting to appear now. Breezy out as well. Should be another warm day if this cloud shifts. Currently 12.9C.

Predictably perhaps, the wettest place in the UK yesterday was in the S Lakes with 30mm of rainfall, this despite a report of 90mm in N Wales! We must have been sheltered by Snowdonia as we actually had a gorgeous day and the Crewe Jubilee Carnival was packed. Same this morning but with more of a breeze. Fingers crossed for tomorrow, but suggestion that the south of the region may be affected by heavy showers rather more than the north, which would be a great pity for the many street parties which I know are taking place in the area tomorrow.

Thunderstorm warning issued by metoffice for parts of the region during tomorrow. Chances are we will just end up with the decaying mess from storms further South/East, but we'll see. Nice to see some potential and if tomorrow is going to be a damp squid, I won't mind if it is of the electrical variety.

Not that great today, blustery with cloud invading from the east. But still the odd sunny spell in-between it so not all is lost. At least it's not raining.

It sounds like you’re a bit unlucky with the cloud, or we’re lucky as it’s been sunny here since late morning.

not wall to wall clear skies but the cloud seems to be breaking as it crosses from Yorkshire and apart from the nagging breeze, it’s a nice day.

Well, didn't expect this from the skies above.

It looks like our luck has run out now.

a lot more cloud and without the sunshine, a cool feel in the breeze.

Quite a bit of cloud around this afternoon with more limited sunny periods and a stiff breeze at times.
