Earlier, I mentioned wanting to see Ac Cas/instability in the clear slot, and Ac Cas there is!

This looks like it is a supercell or something similar. I have been watching its hook like feature for a few mins!

Unlikely (this type of radar can't really pick up debris balls)

Impressive outflow from that MCS on satellite, looks like a shockwave rolling through

These tend to split with energy going east and another going west, will be very interesting to see what happens later..

The Blimin sun has finally came out in Southern Northampton! I hope I might see a distant storm tonight!

Sky looks great here at the moment with a classic thundery look, piles of AC Cas and floccus with the evening sun punching through. Often the prelude to some great elevated storms. Everything crossed for tonight! Camera batteries checked for charge...

The dross of that MCS is heading in my direction - bloody typical! Hopefully the cruddy western edge will evaporate and I’ll get to see some lightning to my west…probably asking a bit much but hey ho!

The air certainly has that mwahahahahahaha there might but probably won't be a storm here tonight, feel about it.

edit: acas spotted among the cloudiness...

The sun came out for a few minutes here, not that it would so much now but the slightly clearer sky did reveal this which I guess is encouraging

You’ll probably get a thunderstorm tonight, but it will be elevated so the air doesn’t have to feel particularly stormy at the moment

You’re really well placed for it. Just sit and wait

That’s my thinking, clear skies are very welcome - even at this late hour

Although I am not anticipating anything here this evening, today has seen the highest dew point of the year.

Hi newbie here, longtime lurker. Hope for some action over this end but probably won't nothing but grey skies and light rain

Looks like new cells possibly (and quickly) developing to the west of the MCS - which is potentially good news

I hope we get something amazing, but you know what it’s like on these isles! Always best to not get hopes up too much.

Ooho, the latest met office run looks very good for my area. Got quite an intense cell moving JUST to the east of me, however it could change very easily.

The Cirrus-ey outflow from the French storms goes all the way from Lyme Regis to Dungeness now - very impressive. It's turned things very milky here.

Sky is clearing here finally and the air does feel a bit more juicy. Pretty convinced any actual activity will be hindered by the cloud shield from the MCS leaving the Normandy coast and over to the Far East of me anyway

Radar vs chart

That's going to take a monumental effort to match that chart within 21 minutes. lol
