Pondering if it's worth heading up to the top of Holme Moss in a bit to see anything that might cross into the NE at around midnight, a expansive view all the way out across the Sheffield plain (and beyond) but the cloud-base would be a limiting factor.

@MapantzConvective Weather has suggested Storm heights of around 40,000 feet due to their cloud tops being roughly-70°C.

The view from up here at devil's dyke is phenomenal!! Almost constant lightning in the distance and heading straight in my direction!

Any action expected to hit South Yorkshire? I'm bricking it lol

It’s probably not very likely but within the realm of possibility. I really hope so tho

That super active line is going to miss me to my south so I’m hoping those infill storms can get going and the super active line doesn’t hog all the juice

That’s the danger

Cloud tops of 40,000 are pretty standard for summer storms are they not? Remember a few years back a storm had really high tops can't remember how high

Guess its still quite impressive for this time of year with just being the start of Summer, think the other year or two big storms didnt occur till June/July unless I'm mistaken. I remember one year when storms struggled to even get across the channel

Plenty of lightning, so the cloudtops must be very tall..

Wow! We are in Kingsbridge, South Devon.

Have a clear view east as we are fairly high up and I can see the flashes of those storms from here! Cloud tops must be very, very high.

That's got to be at least 100-120 miles away

That'd be a direct hit for me although the North Downs are a pain in the weeble for shielding Medway.

It's a shame these storms aren't coming directly from the south as Maidstone appears to have its own microclimate and generates good energy for storms! Given these storms should be elevated in nature, the downs shouldn't really be an issue I think.  To be at the top of blue Bell Hill would be a nice view
