Im out, theres no big display tonight in the evening, but a low level one... below capella.. is possible. No sign though atm.

Nothing here yet other than all windows and doors open to keep the house as cold as possible and some foxes calling in the distance. Tea is on.. will be up midnight latest in lean-to with the dogs anyway just incase

Im out, hoping somethings developed, its a great night but theres nothing obvious yet. Its a bit smutty so my eyes are playing tricks ... lol.

Another blank evening, nights drawing in now..

Ill give it one more go tonight... then without a favourable daisy/reports/sightings at Flensburg...im out ... its been a very poor season for evening views. 

18 times out since June 1st

1 decent low display
3 faint low displays
14 empty skies

that is not good.

The display of 18th/19th June 2009 was comfortably the best display of these clouds that I witnessed. As early as about 50mins to an hour after sunset, you could see these clouds.

The electric blue colouring  was stunning

Even at 1am , the display was brilliant

This is the closest I have come to what I think the evenings after the Tungusuka event in 1908 must have been like. With those clouds, it didn't feel it really went that dark. I know with the lingering twilight it never goes truely dark but it looked a lot lighter with that brilliant display.

From my limited experience, a high display seems to become more visible earlier than a low one... i long for a high one.

I took this flying back in the early hours from Cyprus last week somewhere over the North Sea. The picture doesn’t really do it Justice on how good it looked!
