Franklin getting a little disorganised currently...some moderate shear affecting the storm and probably the first signs the trough to the north is tugging on it..should start to relocate soon.

Franklin trying its best, the sea temperatures are probably offsetting the shear.

Lots of talk about this one over last few days and its finally been recognised.

Don't forget how fast Matthew went from TD to a Cat5 over similar area, and cooler waters.

Indeed and quite often ex-tropical systems work in our favour giving the jet a nudge and pushing the Azores HP over us.

The problem is their unpredictabilty - as an example, GFS, GEM and ECM all have different evolutions for Franklin. The idea of the storm as a cut off dying on the approach to the UK just doesn't sit well - I think the idea of Frankin being absorbed into another trough and intensifying that feature is more credible but that in turn helps as described above.

Lots of Tropical activity going on there is Tropical Depression 10 currently to the south of Cuba and South East of Mexico that looks like it could hit Florida (Tampa and Naples) with severe thunderstorms over the next 4 days. Could this activity give the jet a nudge to the north in 7-10 days time benefiting the UK with the Azores High or is there no impact expected?

Tropical Depression 10 forms, to make landfall in Florida this week (accuweather.com) - full details here
