Met office have extended the ice warning much further inland than it was so they’re clearly seeing a signal for precipitation too. As much as I would like some snow I’m really enjoying this glorious crisp sunshine. Not really in the mood for cold rain showers 😅

Evident this morning on a drive to Liverpool. Close to -4C at home, 5 miles further towards the river and the car shot up to 2C!

GFS backing this up chart for Midday Saturday showing snow cover for most of the region, however I imagine the totals indicated in some places are way over the top, meantime like most places in the region a hard overnight frost leading into a beautiful but bitterly cold day.

That goes with what i've seen on the MetO Rainfall Forecast chart earlier this morning, there's somewhat of a LLC that parks itself across Southport/Blackpool with spiralling bands of showers rotating around the LLC center and throws the precip slightly inland between Warrington & Morecambe Bay. It could just be a 'dud' model run but given it's 2 days away then the MetO could be on-to something.

Reached the heady heights of -2ºC here now and that's in the sun!

The back garden is a block of ice... Decked it twice nipping to the greenhouse 😂

2c snow, lovely crisp day. If we can't have snowfall then this is a brilliant close second, third would be dense freezing fog.

Temperature has just gone above freezing here, 0.1C. Not bad at all given it is nearly 13:00.

Glorious day here, that sun is surprisingly potent for December. I would not be surprised if the uv index is as high as 2 today which would be quite unusual for approaching the shortest day of the year.

Currently a pleasant 4C
