Oh well its something, and shows the weak feature is quite far west. Hoping I may catch a light dusting out of this in the next couple of hours, could all break up this side of the Lake District. Some patchy cloud is building... fingers crossed.

Glorious day here, that sun is surprisingly potent for December. I would not be surprised if the uv index is as high as 2 today which would be quite unusual for approaching the shortest day of the year.

Currently a pleasant 4C

Just took the dog for a walk, one side of the road firmly sub zero and still in frost.  Bitter.  The other side, gloriously warm and sunny.  As you say - you can really feel the strength on your clothes, so perhaps a strong sun day - unusual 2 weeks from the shortest day.

Is this system further west than predicted? It seems to be as Carlisle getting in on the action.. Seems like it isn’t decaying and separating as much as forecast either?

Crisp blue skies from start to finish. Sun is starting to go down here and I can already tell the skies will look fantastic at dusk. No melting in any shade today.

Buxtonweather has finally updated since being stuck at 09:30am for the past few hours 🤪 looks like it wasn't a 'Ice Day' for us here despite the lingering frost across shaded areas, +1.9'c some-time in the afternoon although it's back down to -0.1'c again now the sun is setting. Eyes out NE and hoping a shower or two can at least survive the trip across the Pennines to give a fleeting glimpse of snowfall during the evening.

0ºC here; just been to get the Christmas tree... It's a bit big 😂

Gorgeous colours in the back garden, view from my home office window:

Looks like there's cloud coming over slowly too... Wonder what it'll bring!

A fabulous day today and if it's not snowing, this is easily second best in winter. Sunny, cold and very still out. The temperature struggled up to a maximum of 1.6C this afternoon, but now starting to fall again steadily, currently 0.4C. Could well be even colder tonight than last night if the cloud stays away.

Aye same on the Wirral

Will be interesting how low we go tonight, almost -5*C last night, probably the coldest night for say 1-2 yrs.  Definitley this year.

Cloud cover might affect the temps tonight

-1.5ºC and dropping here... It's bitterly cold in the back garden; it's had no sunlight all day bar the corner where the greenhouse is.

That's frosted over already and there's quite a bit of cloud coming over too!

Lovely wintery day, frost stayed throughout the day in the shade, checked the bird baths and was about 2cm thick ice, can see cloud starting to roll in now as well so maybe they'll bring some dusting

Some very light echos have developed towards Huddersfield moving south west

From now on these little features could pop up just about anywhere.
