Was in London for the day, first time in probably 8/9 years, back in Cov now. Looks like back home here there were some showers around 3pm amounting to 1.5mm, so yet another day which couldn't manage to stay dry.

Some nice evening captures from Jack though as usual north of here among some of the showers:

Friday has a chance of 200m plus for wet snow, GFS too far north, UKMO maybe okay for higher levels

members like Kasim Awan I'd expect to see a few cms of snow fri into sat

Some more photos of this mornings sunrise, probably the best one yet so far this year, they just keep on coming!

Also did another check on the local river and at last gone back to normal levels within its banks, over a metre lower than peak height during flood. Now able to walk through the adjacent fields with ease.

I remember Atlantic 252 Oh joy, cold rain for me then. I'd actually be happy to see some of our more upland posters get some actual snow, but I doubt it's going to be any fun here!

I remember Atlantic 252 Atlantic Ocean, I love the idea, but doubt that we'll see the reality. This winter has been a bust so far.

Not the best day here today. Murky throughout, and nuisance-value rain on and off for most of the time. Not especially mild, not especially cold, not especially windy, not especially anything. A nothing day, really.

starting to look good now for North Midlands, last hill snow event gave 10 to 20cms.

so fingers crossed for now.

Best late snowfall here was approx 6 years ago, April 6th dropped 15cm from 5am to 10am, all gone by 6pm, hahah

but fun to see, and get out in

Grim day overall, with on and off light rain, but the highest temperature since last Wednesday, 11C currently.

A bit drier tomorrow but then more rain on Friday with a fairly deep low moving through a cool polar maritime airmass. Any settling snow likely to be confined to >300-350m for Wales, northern England and the Peak district.

An Increasing drier trend from mid next week which is good to see now to help lower flooding issues, but still a few days too far out to be fully certain on it.

Interesting that the GFS 18z extends Friday’s snow risk southward.

Mustn't get sucked into it….

doubt anything like Dec 3rd, which was very good here, low levels could see wet snow, high levels settling snow

Latest UKV seems interesting for Saturday Morning, especially in the eastern region.

I do think it's looking rather marginal, think more elevation would do best. Still a lot to be resolved in a short time frame.

Lies. I have trust issues after last time. Mind you, it did snow last time. It just didn't settle.
