Cheesed Off

I'm getting a bit cheesed off with being unwell at the mo. I had to have a scan on my kidney on Monday, as well as a growth scan, as Mervin is a little large for the dates. Because of an emergency I never got to see the consultant and find out how the kidney is but Merv is fine (dispite having Mick Jagger lips ) Went to the Docs yesterday re an ear infection to be told he had been sent my blood results in error. They were checking my kidney function which seems ok but it now seems that my Li

Stuck In Snow!

Well hubbie managed to get stuck in the snow last night for almost 2 hours  I didn't expect to see hardly any snow down here but so far we have had 2 lots in a week Last night was particularly bad in this area. The main road to Cirencester had a reported 200+ abandoned cars on it last night and even the gritter lorry got stuck Thankfully he got home in one piece, with no damage to him or the car

Bonhomme De Neige

My little fella came home from Nursery yesterday saying "Bonhomme de neige" over and over again. I asked him what he meant and he said "Snowman" My French is not very good  He loves his new Nursery and is learning so much it's scary but it's all done with fun and there is no pressure for the kids to do anything they don't want to do, they just do it because they really enjoy it I went to a coffee morning at the school this morning in an attempt to meet new people in the ar

Hospitals

Went to the Hospital this morning to see the Consultant Obsetritian (sp) re my kidney etc Appointment was for 10.30am and at 11.45am my hubbie went to ask what was going on. "oh we've been a bit busy this morning" Hubbie got mildly narked and asked how to complain We then got fobbed off with excuse after excuse. One couple were still waiting since 10am We eventually got to see the consultant who apologized but said this was likely to happen again When I got home I got a message to s

We've Moved !!!

Well we have finally moved from North to South (well South West) The move itself was fairly straight forward. I was the only person who managed to break anything (a nice but fairly cheap vase) Moving into the new house was a bit depressing Having only seen it once back in September I had managed to gloss over it's bad points. Plus the previous owners had not exactly 'made good' any thing that they had removed. The carpet in the sitting room is soooooooooooo disgusting that I would not ev

Can't Sleep

I can't sleep at the moment I think it's a mix of worry about moving and Mervin trying to find the light switch in my tummy Hubbie is very ruthless at getting rid of stuff, which is good as our new house is a little smaller than our current one (but smaller mortgage ) I'm having to find a new home for little fella's sand/water play table. Hubbie thinks I should just take it to the tip but I would rather someone had use of it Strangely he thinks I being tight by getting narked at our b

Dead Body !!!!

Blimey, what a week. Firstly someone managed to wreck the main bridge on Wednesday, which I almost went through shortly after it happened not expecting to find a big hole in front of me Now today the workmen saw something in the river and so we had 3 police cars, 2 ambulances and the air ambulance. From what I have heard the person was not alive Lot's of going on for a normally quiet little town Yesterday was a day from Hell Our removal company annouced that as we had not paid upfron

It's also little fella's last day at his childminder's tomorrow. He's been with her since he was 4 months old and I feel like she is one of the family, so I imagine I will get a bit emotional tomorrow nigh

Are We There Yet?

Where do kids get it from :o Little fella is totally into the 'are we there yet', just where do they learn this :o What is the correct answer ? nothing, No not yet, almost? I was supposed to get my windscreen fixed today but the guy arrived and told me that as I have Solarglass (tinted blue windscreen) that the repair would be clear and show exactly the same as it is at the mo, so I opted to pay the insurance company £50 to get a new one but I have to wait for them to order a new windscreen

Castle Howard

Today has been a spledid day weatherwise, lovely sunshine, nice temps, slight breeze Me and little fella went to Castle Howard, which is only 15 mins from where I live but we rarely go there :o We had a good day and the fountain was working for once We went to feed the ducks at Harome (home of the Star Inn ) but they were naughty ducks that tried to attack us for the food rather than be good and wait for it to be thrown to them, so we left rapidly :o (I hope they appear on the menu prett

Back From The South!

Well we are back from a quick trip down to see where we are going to be living soon (Nr Cheltenham) Drove down in a downpour on Monday morning and managed to get my window chipped by a stone off a lorry  For once I didn't have my insurance details with me, so I had to wait until my return to sort it out. Thankfully, they think they can fix it (even though it's on the driver's side) so it won't cos me anything. We stayed at a lovely Cotswold country pub for 2 nights. Hubbie was reading the c

Blogs'r'us

How many blogs  I look forward to have more to read (I'm just a nosey c** really )We were mad and went to Ikea yesterday. Not to buy but to have a look at bathrooms etc for the new house. Also went to return some Maternity trousers to Next. They were the below the bump type, which is good as they don't irritate my op scar but gave me a lovely Builder's bum look Bought a baby monitor, bit early but we are staying in a country pub for a couple of nights next week and I thought we could m

Not that I'm counting or anything :o Went for my last visit to see the consultant today, he was very nice and got me lots of photocopies of notes/letters etc so I can take them with me when I move. Kidney seems to be behaving itself pretty well The weather on the way back was horrid, pouring rain, thick fog on the tops, dirty roads :o but looks like it's clear up a bit now Little fella wanted to make buns to take for his last day at Nursery but he took so long pratting about not getting

Yippee, only 4 working days left at work :o Today has been a long slog, with my boss saying about 5 words to me all day :o Off to the hospital again to have my kidney checked out, it's a bit of a pain but it's good that they keep an eye on things. The house move is getting to me a bit, I just want things to be a bit more definate Thankfully I have next week off work, so I can chill a bit and do a few phone calls etc  Anything else :o oh got rid of little fella's slide tonight Didn't

Only 5 Days Left !!!!

I know you must be thinking "well she can't count and she's an accountant" but I managed to negotiate an early finish today, so 2 days less to work...........YIPPEE  I can't wait, I thought on the way home that my life has been totally taken over by this job and I don't feel I'm allowed to enjoy life at the moment But this is going to change, I'm going to enjoy myself more and enjoy time with hubbie and little fella :o Last day for little fella at one of his childminders tomorrow, so w

8 Days Left

Oh joy, only 8 days left at work Not that I'm counting the days, hours, mins etc :o Looks like we will be moving down south in 2 weeks time, it's a strange experience to be leaving the area I have lived in all my life but I'm ready to experience a different area and all it has to offer (being very positive katie :o ) I'm really looking forward to finishing work and concentrating on little fella, then MiniLoo when he/she arrives. I've realise recently that I have missed so much of his growni

The Star Inn :-p

We finally made it out to celebrate our belated Wedding Anniversary. I booked one place only to cancel it as the woman was really snotty and we could only have a table after 9pm but had to be there by 8.30pm :o Hubbie suggested that we go really early and try to get a bar table in the Star Inn at Harome (one of Gordon Ramsay's 10 most favourite eateries in the country). I had visions of us settling down with a bag of chips outside the chip shop later but as luck would have it we were lucky and

Stress!!!!

Just when I thought I was getting to the peak of my stress levels  Our buyers came round last night for a bit of window measuring, to look at the dishwasher we are leaving etc. They proceeded to tell us that they got a phone call at 4.40pm from the estate agents saying that their buyer wants some things including in the sale of our buyer's house or she is dropping her price by £2.5k The things she wants are a wrought iron curtain pole (which was a gift to them), a breakfast bar stool (

Too Quick

Today I found out that our buyers want to move in two weeks time Their side of things have been holding everything up but now it seems it's all go  They are both Teachers, so it suits them to move during half term but I cannot leave work until 4th November so I will be homeless with a 3 year old I need to find out when the people we are buying from are thinking of moving before I really start to panic Anything else.....couldn't sleep last night so listened to the Paul McKenna CD at

Packing

Got home today to be greeted by 85 packing boxes and packing materials I think the removals company have slightly over estimated the contents of our house but I suppose it's better to have too many boxes than too little. At least we can now start to sort stuff out and get organised. I spent this afternoon showing my boss how to run and write reports. I think she finally appreciates how much work I do It will really hit home when she wants to change any reports and she finds out just how har

Tvs

Not a very exciting weekend, lots of sorting out what we are taking with us and what we are not bothering with. Our new house is a bit smaller than our current one (but we plan to make it bigger) so we are rationalising what we are going to take. We will need to buy a fridge and a freezer as they are not built-in as we have at present so we thought we would go have a bit of a reckie at what was out there. Little fella loved just opening doors etc  I just found it a bit boring, it's hard

Trains

Well as Shuggee was going on about trains on Saturday, we decided to go to the National Railway Museum on SundayLittle Fella really enjoyed it but give him massive steam trains, weighing 100's of tonnes, he preferred the little model railway  We then braved Toys'r'us Little Fella was asking me if Father Christmas was back off his holidays yet. I told him that he was and he was working very hard getting ready for Christmas :o Oops, forgot to mention poor little fella discovering how
