Hardly surprising it's so nippy given the temps in Scandinavia last night and the UK under a NE breeze.

Pretty extraordinary low temps up there given how late in Spring we are.

Just had some of the heaviest rain I've seen in ages in South London.

Glad I read the met's forecast for 'scattered light showers' before heading out with a now very wet dog!

At last, a shower👍. Kinda puts me out of misery, just sat around. Damned forecast though - i could've done the job this morn at 9.30 and by now the seal would've been fine🙄.

Wimbledon88 No doubt they will still claim that April 2024 was the "hottest April ever!" like they do every month though lol

Lots of sunny spells now, after a brief sharp shower.

Overcast and drizzly morning but started brightening up about an hour ago. April so far I would give a 3.5/10 a pretty meh month with no real heat, sustained sunshine or exciting weather and the first week was very poor but also many usable days. Not a month cursed to bogey man status but not a month that will be remembered fondly ether.

If this is what 'high pressure' looks like nowadays then I really give up

It isn't exactly very high pressure though, only around 1018mb in your area.

Wimbledon88 Proper biblical. Light and scattered indeed....lol

Jheez tomorrows just looking worse and worse. Fully clouding over by midday now and barely reaching double digits.

Going to be grim with that thick cloud and only 9/10c in the afternoon

At least any future July 2012s will be comfortable when raining, rather than chilly.

In Absence of True Seasons I’m not sure if that’s better or worse though - to have a spell of nice, warm weather for a week, then suddenly it’s single digit maximums again like January. It’s basically like the weather saying ‘spring here is here - just kidding it’s winter again’. 😂

Seriously though, it’s been very wet and dull for most of western and Northern Europe since July last year.

We'll probably flip flop between extremes in the years ahead. We've had our extremely wet period, we'll likely soon enter an extremely dry period again.

cheese I know what you mean haha.

For me personally, I take any warm and sunny days by this point in the year, regardless of what's to follow.

A spell of 20-25c and sunny and dry, followed by some frigid spring days, like central Europe has had, is preferable to me than another 10 days of 10-12/13c, mostly overcast and on-and-off rainy conditions that we're having instead, as it's basically just a continuation of what we've had for months and months. It's super boring!

But it'd definitely be a shock to the system to go from 25c to 5c overnight lol. Madness.
