Snow just keeps getting heavier and heavier with every shower that passes through... fast approaching the highest snowfall amounts this area has seen in over 5 years!

Yep it sure does. very good covering here but the snow has just stopped.

Around a centimetre of snow here after those recent showers passed through.

Clear skies now and the temperature is dropping. Currently -0.5C.

Yes very heavy now, looks like quite a large shower too, so should finally get something measurable from it

Now will you stop moaning?? ;)

It's so heavy out there right now... can't begin to imagine what it's like in North Yorkshire at the moment... looking at the radar they have it even worse. I braved the icy winds and heavy drifting snow to get a measurement on the grass.. upto just over 8cm's now... 10cm's looking like an absolute certainty as the night is still young and convection just continues to INCREASE.

All this ppn seems to be either north or south of us - we've not had anything other than a few grains for several hours now.

I remember that day ! I was so annoyed ! :D ... but it happens. Its heavier now, like a snow fog of such.

Hopefully I can catch you up tomorrow when the main band arrives :D

Excellent :D It seems to around 3cms where I am, which isn't too bad I suppose.

I'll stay up for about another 30mins and if nothing happens i'll think about getting some sleep.

nights like these are too good to miss :D

It makes a very pleasant change to have snow cover and for it not to

melt straight away.

The only downside is, we'll have even more football postponements because of this weather. I'd rather have the snow to be

honest, though.
