It was really extreme for about 10 minutes! Before storms had normally just missed us but this one whacked us full on! That payed for all the near misses!

I'm hoping these storms in the midlands and wales will continue to live on in to the night as they may slowly move in to my area, potentially giving some night time fireworks.

Looks stormy out to my west. On Rain Today it looks like it's going to go straight through Daventry and other parts of western Northamptonshire but probably miss the town altogether.

I'm so incredibly frustrated. Far too hot and no reward at the end of it. I hate summer.

A huge electrical storm has just gone over the Uttoxeter area and is heading north. The gutters and grids couldn't handle the rain and it was like midnight.

Someone's in for it in the Staffs Moorlands/Derbys Dales area. Electric went off for a bit.

It`s been a different day today with very rapid high cloud formation, with most of the early afternoon sunny and then mid-level TCU coming from the south slow moving which looked like they were large at first, later lots of lower cumulus with a few larger high cumulus behind(the cumulus help to grow into the mid-level cumulus clouds to the north),anyway 4 turned into either showers and 2/3 CB`s to the north/NW quite a way off.

A few looked promising heading this way but seem to turn back to altocumulus quite high at that and 2 brief sharp showers.

And a larger CB`s further to the east/SE must be the one in the midlands.

Hottest day of the year aswell at 26c

I was watching the anvil build as I left work at 6pm. It really did explode in around ten minutes. All storms looking like they're going directly North, so lets just hope it doesn't change its current path. Currently going dark to the South but the sun is still out here.

Some precipitation visible from the trough currently heading in from the SW. Hopefully will start to get lively in a few hours.

It's electrified. A developing cell, but yeah definitely a flash and rumble just to my SE.

Hi everyone. Having just watched what I think was a live broadcast from South Today on Bournemouth beach, I noticed what looked like some fairly large convective clouds further to the west. Can anyone out that way confirm these thoughts? Have been keeping my eye on the sat pics for that area around NW France and the Channel, but will have to wait and see about that lot for now

I can see some cauliflower tops in the distance to my south now, along with a nice supercell looking anvil, whoever is under that must be getting soaked.
