Happy New Year.. loads of fire lanterns in the sky over Chelmsford wonder if they will make it to Kent....

They were not fire lanterns been watching those for over 2 hours now, glowing orange balls over the sky saw them last year too on several occasions a little snow here but loads of UFO's has anyone else seen them?

:D Wow looks like a Norfolk/Suffolk/Essex Streamer setting up, those showers are driving perfectly down the A12 :D

Interesting Deeper Convection just offshore from the Mersey Estuary as well, GFS 1 V 0 METO

Just started snowing lightly in Hornchurch, Essex.

One of my New Year's resolutions was to post not just lurk, so at least that's one I've kept!

Happy New Year everyone. :)

Looks like SE Essex, Medway area could get a dusting from those echoes in the Thames Estuary.

Thinking about calling it a day, working later but some impressive bass coming through the walls and reverberating around my place, from next doors party! :)

Regards,

Tom.

I will get them just before you if they reach us, so will keep you posted, but it seems that looking at the latest radar, the showers might just be too far SE of us, but things can change.

Just went outside and noticed that a couple of flakes must have fallen, but literally a couple.

By the way...HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Seems to me there is minimal precipitation, and what little there is, is heading east of London

Driven from Basildon through Wickford to SWF. No PPN settling. Have seen a light snow shower which would have settled permanently had it lasted more than 5 minutes.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL :bomb::)

It's snowing again here!!

Not surprised the MetO updated their Warnings for the SE:

Widespread icy stretches will form on untreated roads and pavements overnight especially following wintry showers. The showers may give small accumulations of snow locally.

The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the Highways Agency for further advice on traffic disruption on motorways and trunk roads.
