yahoo.gif The grass is still nicely green here in Dorset! I dont think a single flake has fallen in the last 12 hours!. I think its fair to say most forecasts got it badly wrong for Dorset!. All the hype again!.

Looks like the precip all around us now though on the radar is heading for us!.

Sorry for all the moaning but being the only county in the country to not see snow yet in the last few weeks, you must be able to understand our frustration!!!!!?

Totally understandable - lets hope you get some as the band moves south!

Some parts of Dorset have definately got snow(sorry if the south haven't sad.gif ), It's snowing very heavily hear now in N.Dorset and is already covering the ground where the snow has been removed once this morning.

Just been outside had a snowball fight with the kids(school cancelled) and will take them sledging later.

Shaftesbury and Gillingham have been heavily hit etc.

Just been out taking photo's for the last hour, snowing very heavy now in Shaftesbury with incresing wind from the NW

Started to snow again, small but heavy flakes. Ians forecast earlier suggested a possible further 5cm for this general area so fingers crossed this lasts for a while longer.

Can anyone check the Netweather Radar for SN1 for me? Am i due much more snow throughout today? cc_confused.gif Thanks!

Just checked for you - you're very much still in the thick of it and directly lined with the snow that is streaming across from the east - so to my untrained eye - i'd expect snow for a while yet - unless it all sinks directly south of course !

You are in the band of light snow which looks like it may last for a while. The heavy stuff is south of you

That's the band of snow I mentioned earlier. seems to be pepping up too.

i feel your frustration as well however the band shows it 'might' be coming this way and the gfs 00z shows it sticking around. maybe all is not lost?? :)

I was hoping my negativity would bring some snow so i could prove me wrong which could happen as there is loads of precip heading right for Dorset now and its starting to sleet here now

Blimey Dogs I'm impressed! I'm about to do the same now. How far have you been? The things we do for weather :)

We did better than I expected here in Cheltenham, I haven't measured properly yet but will now

The question is how far south can it get.

It may get stuck 50miles or so north of the current lower band and then rotate around it.

Will just have to watch this one,

Devon/Cornwall peeps -

The precip between exeter and bristol has started its slip over us, Reaching the south coast around 11am-midday. (please see last few frames on radar, and notice it seems to be collapsing like a broken ceiling over exeter.

Should pep up a little as well, and bring slightly lower temps to help supress the daily warming.

Nice, narrows it down to East dorset being the only place then :) but fingers cross that all this precip heading down now brings us something good!

I'm completely gobsmacked by the amount of snow here, really was thinking it wasn't going to happen but had over 4 inches now...
