This past week has been better than christmas!!!

fantastic day still snowing has been all day, but very slushy here in town, but hopefully better bach higher up at home,

Its a shame the flakes have been small. They are a bit bigger in the heavier bursts though. Cant complain though!

agreed Nick, no longer grainy but large flakes...snowfall has certainly perked up recently in two areas...1)a strengthening band on a rough line brum to manchester drfting northwards, and 2)a weakening band edging NE to the SW of brum...It might yet arrest the slow thaw here currently

Very good sized flakes now actually - and lots of them.

Definitely settling because you can see all the individual flakes on the fresh snow cover, continuing to intensify as well. This has been a very nice surprise today, was never expecting to get this much.

oh the snow the snow...will it ever stop, lol yep a great day best of the winter for me today, roads are fine and the snow keeps coming, just took the dog for a walk and had to carry her across the feilds...she has had enough of snow, looks like a fast thaw over the next day or two, but hey looks like it ain't over yet

The biggest flakes we have had all day now... really pelting down...

its snowed all day, but unfortunatly due to the temp, not much has accumulated on top of the falls from last night... shame but been nice to see snow since about 8am though to now... if it keeps up into the darkness later we could be back in buisness but the last of this snow will have passed by then for sure...

Ok I didn't expect this. I stopped watching the radar a few hours ago because the PPN was dying out quickly and the snow had stopped here. Now it's coming down fast and the radar shows it pepping up again

Could be the second band that was on the UKMO 00z fax chart, although I (probably wrongly) presumed that was the ppn around n/w France (which actually could be the trough).

back to grainy stuff....the heavier snow is passing to my east, hitching a ride on the A34 from Cannock to Stafford!
