temp now -0.2°C, first minus temp since 13th Jan, maybe just a few cheshire gap showers sat night-sun night, shown on gfs and bbc, but metcheck has me bone dry, hopefully these are underplayed

The Cheshire Gap is up and running right now. Winds need to be a bit more westerly to affect us though that is forecast to happen soon by the GFS.

yeah noticed that, I could see it to my west, but sadly coming nowhere near here, seem to be tracking directly south, Better chance later in weekend

Sunday looks like it could be a very good day with perhaps frequent snow showers, perhaps merging. BBC maps also suggest widespread showers here.

True but the forecast doesnt seemed to have changed from them for ages now! Lazy!

Latest BBC maps are very recent and although to be taken with a pinch of salt, some snow looks likely, mainly Sunday.

Showers are coming in from the NNW today which hasn`t happened lately had a heavy one this afternoon giving a covering but that was early afternoon, next heavy one just went east of here but had a soft hail shower from that, lower ground east about 5 miles had a covering even on the roads, more snow on lower ground can just see it this side shrewsbury.

Another snow or soft hail shower 6pm in the same place moderate on the radar.

Yes- we have snow on the ground in Shrewsbury :good:

There was a heavy shower of snow about 4.30pm which gave everything a light coating, it partly melted from the roads and paths but remained everywhere else. It then started to freeze before 2 more showers came through about 6.30 and again 10 minutes ago, they dusted the roads again. Got about 1cm on the surfaces that kept this afternoon's snow, 0.5ish elsewhere.

Looks like the Cheshire Gap has ran out of steam for now at least.

At about 00:30 last night we caught the edge of a shower. We were under mainly clear skies with the moon shining and snowflakes easing down. Very nice it was!

Good morning all. Looks like the met have got some of our parts in for a bit of snow tonight

Risk of disruptionWarningValidWest Midlands: Shropshire Staffordshire Stoke-on-Trent Telford + WrekinWidespread Icy Roads & Heavy SnowSun 31 JanThere is a moderate risk of a severe weather event affecting Northern Ireland and parts of Wales, Southwest England, the West Midlands and Northwest England.

Sleet and snow showers developing overnight Saturday into Sunday may bring accumulations of snow, especially over higher ground, and lead to widespread ice on untreated roads and pavements.

Issued at: 1103 Sat 30 Jan

though I'll believe that when I see itwhistling.gif Although the most recent NAE shows this for tomorrow

So in short maybe a few lucky people may see a bit of snow overnight and into tomorrow morning though I would'nt expect to much accumulation just some nice beefy showers.drinks.gif
