Some of the ensembles are now so fqar north even you guys end up getting only brief snow before rain, so be careful what you wish for with regards to the northerly trend...though those runs are on the extreme side!

Still it shows what can still happen, equally there are still ensemble members that nail the Midlands and the south so whilst I'd put you guys as prime time location it really can still change.

After a 2+ hour 'shower' the snow has almost stopped falling. We have around 2 inches but it is pretty wet stuff.

All those odd tyre tracks - it's a bus stop there so hopefully n ot cars spinning wildly!

Apparently Traffic Scotland want our money in taxes to pay for road cams but we're not allowed to use the images we pay for.

Hotlinking on a pay site I could understand, but a screen cap on a free forum when the cam is free to view?

Oh well. Thats the government for you.

edit: I wonder what the freedom of information act says about this...

So that's why budget cuts are needed; the gov actually employ people to read internet weather forums and find little low res free road cam pics to complain about. Excellent use of taxpayer money!biggrin.gif

Anyway, back to the weather - 1.4 C here but frost holding in the shade. Sun still shining, and still watching those showers off the coast although they seem to be weaker nowdry.gif

06z GFS gives probably 5-7cms for a good part of Scotland on Monday, though for far northern parts of the country the GFS wraps up the low and this helps to keep the precip going for far longer, you'd probably get 10-15cms in that evolution.

Still lts to be decided yet and the models still are not too sure about the evolution of the set-up still, though the GFS has been suggesting the same broad set-up for a while now bar yesterdays 18z run.

Apologies if this is already on here but just noticed it. Flash warning for Central, Tayside and Fife for heavy snow from 2pm - 8pm? Oddly enough it is starting to cloud over here from the east/NE.

Aye, what's been hitting Aberdeen is heading your way. Lets hope it does not weaken and makes it to the Lothians/Borders toogood.gif

What do you think the chances of that little area of snow making it all the way to the Dunfermline area are? Right now, it's pretty much clear blue skies! Lovely outside!

Some photos from my walk earlier. I now have sore eyes because the sun was so bright :)

My house is in the first two (well, it's a flat, but you know what I mean )

Hi Stewie, and welcome. I am in Lochgelly and the cloud is starting to build here after a clear morning. Looks pretty ominous too.

Maybe it was the hotlinking of the image they didn't like - after all it costs them money to host the images.
