Hello LL. Meto forecast for us doesn't seem to tie in with the advisory. Main risk (may) be from heavy rain, not ruling out a rogue storm or two, but for us today i think, the main feature is supposed to be the heavy rain. Can't grumble though, there has been plenty of thunder here already.

Yep heavy rain on the cards I think and anything else a bonus. Showers should be reaching us soon going by the radar.

Witnessed 2 or 3 small thunderstorms yesterday (with a strike every 3 minutes or so) merge into one huge supercell type storm with almost constant thunder! Was pretty interesting!

Looks like even what's left of the frontal band is turning convective as it approaches Tyne and Wear (some cumulus congestus about to the south and west) and then possibly some fireworks to come behind it as there are some pretty heavy showers out there.

The weekend is looking good for heavy showers/hail/thunder in the North East as well!

We had a short-lived but heavy shower here about 30 minutes ago, with one rolling rumble of thunder! Not a "storm" exactly but the thunder was definite nonetheless. :p

I really think that these kind of situations are useless for Glos.

The ONLY time we EVER see any kind of decent storm is via a southern plume.

This whole westerly thing never give ANYTHING.

It seems like the 7channel just screws with ANY convection. It always starts east/north of Glos/Chelt

Fingers crossed for later but im just not holding by breath.

Convection building around your area. Looks like you're in a good spot today Stu.

Had torrential showers here, but nothing electrical. Or loud.
