IT'S NOW SNOWING IN CENTRAL BIRMINGHAM :D :D :D

Congrats.

Hope it heads eastwards into Leicester. Though judging by the radar track the heavy stuff looks set to go just south of us.. as always.

I'll tell you what the shortwave will do......rain. That's if we even get the precipitation in the first place- going by previous encounters that'll be 90% of the battle in itself

stop!! you'll have me slashing my ankles with a blunt knife in a minute!

Still light wet snow falling here, starting to give a 'sugar dusting' on roofs and pavements.

Conditions are right here now for snow, only problem being the lack of intensity in the precipitation.

Temps dropped to around 1c here according to my met office app (really must ask Santa for a weather station for Christmas), and the rain sounds a bit more sleety against the window.

Think I'll give it another half an hour if it's snowing in brum now to see if it comes over this way.

Just need some matchsticks to prop my eyes open.....

Light rain (just rain) and 1.7 °C. The temperature has barely budged in an hour, and the rain is getting lighter and lighter. I think I'm going to call it a night; good luck to everyone else, and great to hear Brum is getting some snow. :)

I've never seen such consistant sleet in my life. 2 hours now it's been like it, lots of flakes floating around and rain tearing through them. :lazy:

Sleet/rain here for 2hrs just needs a push, its still moderate stuff.

Well thats me off to bed. The light wet snow we did have here has stopped, looks like the predicted intensity of this system was way over estimated.

As the low continues to deep, the band will intensify further over the next few hours.

It certainly needs to and it needs to keep pivoting and not move further south to give a chance of any snow here. Sadly i dont forsee it.

Any reports from Stoke? Radar depicts precipitation and looking at the Hanley cam the street s looks as though there has been a very light covering?? Anyone corroborate?
