This makes it clear to see the progress the cold front has made over the past 2 hours :)

all this talk of temperatures and snow. it is never too cold to snow otherwise the arctic would never have any. snow can fall up to 7c but it won't settle unless the ground is below 3c. saying that rain can fall when temperatures are around freezing too. all depends on the upper air temp too.

Frustrating here isnt it!

Mainly freezing rain, then a bit of snow to raise hope, then nothing!!

very , thought we might have managed a few hours of snow before the rain , nevermind at least i can watch the rugby now

This will be another let down then - as expected. Fine margins here, mean no snow. Although the snizzle has increased in speed.

Lol hadn't noticed... dirty mind and all that.

Snow reaching Brum now, everything on track... should see some good intensification over the next 2-3 hours as the triple point arrives and the fronts occlude.

Going pretty much as forecast for Western most areas.

Very fine light sleety snow just starting in Northfield South Brum. Gone quite dark and wind slowly picking up. temp hovering around 0c Let's hope the front starts to stall before it pushes too far east to give the main band time to catch up :)

None too accurate though.... Worcester falls in the sleet portion of that radar, but it almost certainly isn't and the precip is still light. I think it's just a case of magic and/or witchcraft....

Snow grains here near Lichfield.

Radders: The precip is only light at the moment and will be that was for a bit yet.

Dont get too disappointed mate, the event has even started yet!

Its a very slow passage of the front and things will get interesting later!
