Amazing day, after being in the middle of 2 or 3 storms for the last hour or 2 I've just spotted a funnel cloud come half way down to the ground biggrin.pngbiggrin.png Took a photo but it was so far away and in between tree's I'm not sure how it will turn out. Will post it shortly anyway smile.png

(In Kilmarnock atm)

Can anyone enlighten me. The last picture I posted, is that the beginnings of a funnel cloud I captured or just a general feature...?

Minor thunderstorm at Sandhutton, occasional rumbles, one flash of fork lightning, rain turning heavy, following a sunny and warm morning.

Saw 2 CG and heard 3 rumbles of thunder. Maybe not a storm but you know what....?

I WILL GLADLY TAKE IT!!

I am pleased for you, nothing at all here but a fairly heavy shower, might get something later but I am not optimistc, I can almost feel the storm shield force field in the air, it wont relax its grip easy in these parts

Torrential shower with bits of hail mixed in just passed through. Had a few rumbles of thunder and saw one flash as well. Skies darkening to my South again. it really is a hit and miss affair with a friend living a couple of miles down the road staying dry.

Sorry, large photo but it was pretty far away. It was much closer to the ground than this...

Just watching/listening to a cell approaching from the south. Not a lot of activity, a few rumbles and a CG. Going to set the camera up, might have a go at a timelapse. Fingers crossed its a direct hit!

Convection starting to build over North Wales...a bit more heat and this could go pop!

Great photo.

It already has gone pop looking at that!

I won't get anything here again today. Storms march over and die as soon as they are about 12 miles of the coast. No idea why :(

Ok, i was impatient waiting and have now ended up just outside Warrington. Some very active cells about 30-40 miles to the south and so i am hopeful today may pay off. Pleeeeease don't die out.

And the Midlands is now looking very active.

Great photo Ross, and some other nice photos being posted too.

I've just been out in the fields while a storm passed overhead. It wasn't very photogenic so I didn't really get anything decent I don't think.

Didn't manage to see any CGs but some of the thunder was pretty loud.

My location today is a few miles east of York in a village called Warthill.

It was brief but fairly intense. Larger than pea-sized hail and a fair few rumbles, but mostly at quite a distance. It went through 15 minutes ago but I can still hear it rumbling away to the north.

Absolute monster of a storm to the west southwest of Laurieston village here in Galloway. Continuous thunder with only a few seconds between rumbles, crazy.

there have been storms to my west in liverpool, storms to my north in the lakes , whats betting the storms to the south miss here as well, I just know it. I am tempted to go for a drive south down the m6 to meet the staffordshire storms , but my person shield will shred them within 15 miles of me getting nearrolleyes.gif
