Hope the flow turns towards a northerly one soon as then I will be right in the firing line! tease.gif

How about peeps in Swansea, showers showing up near the area on radar, what is falling?

This is more than a streamer, it;s a trough at least, and possibly an organized band of precipitation. Could be 5-10cm in a sweet spot if it snows all the way.

Met Office has precipitation prediction through the night.

Yes, an organized band of precip for sure. Still think 200m+ for accumulating but like you say, some folk could see 5-10cm if positioned perfectly.

Dew point now down to 0C, good as the showers should be approaching!

Edit:Clear conditions will hopefully drop it further, before any precipitation falls.

Indeed looking very nice for inland Wales, its gradually sinking southwards must be a trough pushing through not sure whether it will miss us in Swansea to the NE at the moment but the MO forecast precipitation does bring in some more showers off the Irish sea again.

True but it's the best I can do! They are poor with hail rarely able to show this even when a lot of the showers contain hail. Apart from that it seems accurate enough this evening, I am getting hail, rain and a little sleet so ties in well to me.

Patchy tonight for me

Said Rain here and we had sleet at sea level and snow here.

Also said no snow for most of North Wales, contradicting other reports.

Showers coming southeast across the area tonight will fall as snow above about 200 m, where more than 5 cm is possible locally. More significant is the risk of icy roads as surfaces freeze behind the showers.

The public are advised to be aware of the risk of disruption to travel.

Given the current setup, a few hilly areas may well get a bit more than 5cm.

Just above 200m here, and the wind has really got up. Shame the temp is 3.9 (it's gone up) and the dew point is 1.9c.

Hopefully, coming from a more selfish point, i will be luckier, it was the same temp and dew last night and it snowed quite heavily here.

key difference though with yesterday, im sure there was an easterly flow when the precip arrived last night which meant temps and uppers arent so important as a NW wind.
