I think we have sone convergence-going on- a clash of air masses & some lift

http://91.121.16.5/m...12-505.GIF?17-6

just enough to develop some convection along that line....

If the band of snow coming from the west merges with the band over us now could it develop into some heavy snow?

It has been snowing lightly in Coventry for forty five minutes or so. Hopefully it follows me back to the East Midlands!

Light to moderate snow falling in the centre of Belper and is starting to recover the pavements where snow has gone :)

Just got in so about to check the 12z's to see how things look for tomorrow.

It has been snowing in Nottingham for about two hours now. Started just before the end of the school day up where I teach in the north of Nottingham. The sky looks full of it, though not sure it can be sustained. Goes to show that when it is very cold little things can pop up.

Falling nicely now in Leicester. My newly installed back garden lamp-posts are fully operational. No more sitting upstairs alone in the spare room watching the street and worrying the wife.clapping.gif

And, after 6 exciting weeks of solid model watching - I have had 1cm of lying snow for 4 nights, its snowing right now and more within the next 24 hours. good.gif

Been snowing light-moderately here for a good hour now. Only ice dusting but a few heavier spells. Interesting.

Reports of heavy snow from Coventry, coming down here in big blobs, but moderately.

Can't say I've seen any heavy stuff myself but then I'm on the edge of the city, on the Exhall side of Longford. I'm heading your way as we speak, en route to Hinckley so it will be intersting to see where, if at all, this dies off.

We've got some decent snow over here right now, have done for the last couple of hours! The sort of stuff you don't have to squint at to make sure it's there ;)

I've just been through Bedworth and into Nuneaton now. The snow is heavier than it was in Coventry and is settling well enough. Watch it stop as I cross into Hinckley. :D

This is amazing, really didn't expect this, it's almost like the event has arrived a day early! It hasn't obviously but if this can keep going for a while we could get a covering from it, it's coming down quite heavy now and the pavements that were clear earlier...Are now white again.

Looks like Leicester is in the sweet spot for once!

Looks like a lot more to come in Belper from that radar grab if its moving in from the south.

It's actually linked up with that front that was moving in from the West!

Here is what the radar looked like at 4pm...
