NW uk radar showing sleet incoming so may have to travel inland to see the snow settle.

I saw that too but it's -1.1c here with a dew point of -3c so it should fall as snow if it does make it here...

"Non-scientific observation of the night: quite parky"

First thing I've understood all night.

Much the same problem here - the anenom, amenom, ammwon, wind thing is on a small tree in the back garden and the signal doesn't quite make it to the base station. Need to move it, but haven't explained yet to the missus that what it requires is a special structure in the front garden....

Not as snowy on the 18z GFS as the front doesn't get as far west, though most of the region still would get some snow. West of London looks best in this neck of the woods.

Would have to agree with this, certainly keeping my expectations for the Bexley area relatively low at the moment, undoubtedly more ebbs and flows to come though

Wouldn't the 18z be better long term though

It has a slight westward correction anyway

Don't panic yet

Block fighting back on the 18z run. Snow on Friday doesn't really make it!

The Drama begins!

Latest GFS shows Friday's snow not reaching us. Beginning of yet another downgrade?

Yes it's almost as if the weather is trying to upset you Matt. Perhaps if you could travel somewhere else in the country for a few weeks.

'Tis good to have voices of reason and, Kold, you are definitely in that category, many thanks!

Maybe but what's the point of prolonging a cold spell that delivers us nothing?

Maybe we will get one really big snowflake at the end of winter?

Bank! :-)

Seriously, I doubt it will verify like that!

But I'd give up a snowfall that is only gonna turn into a slushy mess

For a longer spell with maybe something from the east that we could sustain

Just my opinion mate

Not everyone will agree

Harrow seems to be getting Kent's snow since I moved from there so your theory may be correct.

I agree :) Never had a battleground scenario deliver anything for me, give me an easterly or NE'ly any day!

I agree, I think. Unless we can bag snow then see it retreat, which I guess is unlikely...

Maybe but, then again, maybe not. Are you forecasting? I'm not qualified so wouldn't be so bold!
