Damn, knew I shouldn't have headed back to Fife tonightrofl.gif Mind you, hefty looking shower just to the east heading in, could be interesting, and the NMM/NAE place the greatest snow risk overnight for Fife and Dundee.

I like!!! :D

Very good shower here now, blizzarding down the wee flakes but now turned to bigger flakes, settling on the road once more and down to 1.6/-0.3C. Convection seems to be more localised now for our area but still rapidly intensifying showers as they move inland, with more in behind.

i have a little theory.

if u noticed last night and so far tonight after dark the shower activity seems to pick up and gets further inland and it was same in 2010 as we didnt get any snow showers here in falkirk on an easterly till after dark then.

does anyone think it might have to do with the north sea handing back the energy it has built up through the day from the sun which allows more energy to evaporate into the atmosphere therefore making the showers stronger and allowing them more energy to move further inland with more ppn.

The usual 4 flakes falling here.

Correction, starting to increase and settling. shok.gif

Well that's a start :)

But the blasted snow shield is well and truly up and running for Dunbartonshire.

In terms of breakdown, tentative balance over the next couple of days, given the predicted breakdown scenarios keep getting edged back, will we actually see one, another thing is how much of a breakdown will this be up here in comparison to further down the road, certainly no bbq weather in the post yet!

Positive troughing at +144 has so far materialised as negatively tilted troughing by verification. Until we see positively tilted troughing at +72 with cross model agreement I will remain sceptical of a breakdown. Hell, the front yesterday was progged bring in the breakdown to all areas this time last week only to end up not even making it this far.

I didnt want to jinx it but its close now.

Wind looks wrong to me, it needs to be north of east by a reasonable margin. Currently south of east which may encourage a Forth-Loch Lomond streamer. I hope I'm proved wrong...again

Snaw, finally the lamp is mightier than the shield - fast falling medium flakes

Why is there a complete lack of convection from the North Sea up our way?
