The precip on the radar is almost rotating like a low with the center around kent and thus no precip there. All that lovely snow coming out of france looks like its going around kent up to essex/suffolk

Still got fine snow coming and going here. Traditional trip to the local snow watch pub with the big windows!

hi mate

if the fax charts are right

i think today will be a distant memory sunday night

So you reckon today was the parboiling before Sunday's full on roast potato!

Apologies for the dreadful analogy, it's been a long long day, been up since 4am ;)

Well, we had (almost) 12 hours of continuous snow (well, I say snow - more like dust grains) - and we managed (tops) a whopping 1cm. Give me wet snow and a Thames Streamer any day over that - we would be about 2 foot under snow if that has happened!

Roll on Sunday's big disappointment if the storms tracking in our direction has anything to go by the past 5 odd years (so we won't get nowt)

Still snowing in Croydon biggrin.pngcold.gifclap.gif

Hey your grit team did a good job on the roads today, but I'm very unhappy at how well you also cleared the pavements, I love walking on snow.

Snow appears to have got much heavier in Clapham, SW London. Starting to settle again on roads previously gritted.

Is that blob of ppt towards the south of London getting larger but not moving anywhere anytime fast?

NMM model also going for 5-7cms across Kent and Essex, probably 3-4cms for the rest of the region, but what is worth noting is that all comes down in the space of a few hours, so it'd be a decent fall.

Sunday really is increasingly looking like something to watch, models have been steadily upgrading this feature. A touch marginal close to the coast BUT the flow is coming from a cold France/Netherlands/Belgium.
